DHONI THE LUCKY CAPTAIN
by rajeev arora on Oct 20, 2008 10:18 AM

When time is good then everything comes good so Mr.Dhoni is having good time no doubt and it is good for India and Indian Cricket.

But my feeling also goes for Kumble and Fab 4 who have done so much for Indian cricket especially after Mr.Saurav took over the capataincy and created the enviroment to play with never say die spirit and unity among the members of Indian XI and its bench strength as the huddle of players on the field during his captaincy proved and during his captaincy young guns like Harbhajan Kaif Sehwag Yuvraj Zaheer got all the qualities of representing India in a star manner and India is doing consistently since then leaving Dravid apart as captain who was carried away by nuanatic Greg ChappelSo whosoever is the captain he will be fortunate to carry this brigade of matured players and youngsters are following it to move forward.

Once again,my congratulations to fab 4 and Kumble

kumble as a test captain
by madhan on Oct 19, 2008 10:43 AM

kumble himself as a bowler has lot of responsibilities. In addition to that he was forced to do the job as captain. So it's clear that he will not contribute the most in bowling dept as captain.so stop blaming him that he's not fit for test captaincy.

dhoni seems to be doing well when he captains, otherwise he crawls to score double digit.Of course the fab 4 have contributed. Dhoni is one of the most effective batsmen in both forms and should play in all cicumstances

A Suggestion...!

fab five should now hang their bats, boots, gloves, pads, nappy pads, balls (if they have), and above all themselves... it's a goodbye series for goon-goli and lux-mun (who needs a sanjeevani tree this time than a booti). let's pray that they get a commentators' job in ESPN and Star Sports.

sehwag shall retire before sachin.!
by HI on Oct 19, 2008 09:29 AM  | Hide replies

the way sehwag is playing, getting out in 20s and 30s to atrocious shots,
at end of series it seems he shall also announce ( rather forced) retirement.

u might be joking.Sehwag is the main contributer in the recent superb opening parterships which india managed.Because of him india is getting such great start.Whom do u think will be replaced if he takes retirement.

He's the one who can play aggressive shots with new ball maintaining a strike rate of almost run a ball in test cricket.so there's no chance whatsoever for others to replace him with such quality.

Try to be smart
by Raman sSubramanya on Oct 19, 2008 09:19 AM  | Hide replies

No one criticise Sachin, Saurov and Kumble. They have confirmed berths. Our media and public are crazy about these stars. Like the aged Amitabh who is still continuing and greedy, the above three stars are in no way different.

Anyone can fool the Indian public as they know nothing other than heroworshipping in any sphere. God save this country. Inspite of so much abuse taking place in every field, India is able to stand up and live !!

Easy Paced
by Raman sSubramanya on Oct 19, 2008 07:36 AM  | Hide replies

The pitch was easy paced and flat one for the first 1 1/2 days. Dhoni scored a rapid 90 plus, since he is young and talented, whereas Sachin and Gangully took their own time to score 80s and 100s. That shows they are aged and no stamina. If there were youngsters in the middle order, India would have posted 400 plus in the first day itself.

Oldies think over and retire.

Raman,
Sachin scored 88 runs in 111 balls. Dhone scored 92 in 124 balls. So you decide who scored faster of the two

I dont subscribe to your views, if its that easy then why is Dhoni's average mere 33.18 runs per innings?
Test match is not about playing fast, its about playing right. The situation demanded Sachin & Saurav to steady innings and build a partnership. Dhoni played well and fast because he has the platform built by Sachin & Saurav.
And for Gods sake please stop criticising. It takes courage to face the likes of Lee and Johnson. I and you would never know what it takes to face deliveries at more 140KMPH. Lets enjoy each and every moment of Sachin/Ganguly/Dravid/Laxman/Anil because they will soon be out and you would never be able to see such cricketing genius again.

Glad to read your matured opinion about the game. I fully agree with you. Sadly still not many people really understand this game. All they know is to take names and be cynical about our own senior players.

:) Yes he did, with his 3 yr old son in his living room, and guess what might have criticised his son for not playing as fast as him (and getting out like him too)

Read the following comment in the sports column in the Daily Telegraph from Australia ,
"Given a reprieve on 35, when umpire Rudi Koertzen failed to call for the third umpire on a stumping decision, Ganguly helped rebuild India's innings on Friday". They also complain about Hayden's LBW dismissal in theBangalore test. But they kept quiet when India suffered so many bad decisions in the Sydney test.
They must have understood by now the meaning of poetic justice.
