That's lunch. India have scored 90 and lost a wicket. India's session, no doubt. Dhoni's aggression has shaped the session, he has taken a lot of pressure off his partner and not allowed the burden of captaincy affect his batting. Ganguly looks well set to score a century. He has looked good in parts and had to deal with a difficult passage of play with Lee firing bouncers.
Comparing vengy and dada is like comparing Himalays with st thomas mount. Vengy played against great bowlers like imran, botham, lilee, thomson, Marshal and co. compared to them the present day bowlers are babies. Lara and sachin are equal placing one ahead of other is unjust. Lara has the flair, an advantage of left handers while sachin has the elegance. Regarding dada, he can not be placed in the club of the greats like vengy or sachin. He got most of the opportunity becoz, he came from east and the region based selection policy made his existence easy. but he also deserves the credit for using the opportunity extended to him unlike many promoted by great vishy during his tenure as selection committee chairman. Wher most the players who played for india from Karnataka just becoz of the push given by Vishy

Where this idiot has come from? Dada is a class apart. People will forget Vengsarkar but dada will be remembered for ever. Dada and Vengsarkar are like culture and agriculture.

Culture and Agriculture
Culture - Stopping matches and throwing objects at players example India v/s Sri Lanka, supporting opposition like India v/s SA like traitors, culture - running away from a match seeing grass on pitch like v/s Australia at Nagpur, saying blah blah blah in newspapers and backing off after few days.

then pls go do it....idiots like u wld always behave in this manner! BTW....Dada is on 91 at lunch!
When any thinking person compares Ricky and Tendulkar performances in Cricket, one will easy to understand who is superior or inferior. However, Tendulkar comes from poverty sticken India, therefore, Indians and media magnify minors and significants. Even, media will make Tendulkar's duck outs also bigger and bigger. Hudos.
Giving so much importance to milestones can only happen in India. These guys represent the country and what is important to us is that the team India does well. What we require is a combined team effort so that India cricket team wins most matches. If that comes without any personal milestones or achievemens they are welcome.
If we can have wickets in hand, some pinch hitters may take it to 550. That would be best. Dada himself aan hit hard - if he can survive the early morning spell.
As Sachin scores most run today, its your voice we want to listen today. Its you who had set a very high standard for posterity to follow and overcome and at least some one has gone miles ahead than you. Like to note your selfless comments.
In the melee of Sachin's great achivement, another smaller, though no less significant achivement went unnoticed...and that is Sourav Ganguly scoring 7000 runs in test cricket...and thus becoming the 4th highest Indian run scorer after greats Sachin, Sunny and Rahul Dravid........and more importantly, going past Dilip Vengsarkar, the man who has tormented Ganguly for almost 2 years now.....
Bravo Dada....you really rock!! Keep rocking and score a hundred tomorrow!!

Ganguly aptly called Maharaj showed to his critics why he is still the darling of the cricket loving Nation. Undoubtedly a talented cricketer unlike others he had to carry on with his game under years of severe criticism from those who felt insecured in his presence. Sachin undoubtedly is the greatest of all batsmen this game has ever produced and Ganguly the greatest of all cricketers....Wish him all the best for his hundred today...Cheers!!!

Achievement all the more commendable considering the fact that he had a poor run from 92 to 96......in fact, no run at all!!

Yes, that's a very good point. Ganguli has scored all those runs while captaining India for a long period. Everyone knows how difficult it is to score runs when you have the presure of captainship. Tendulkar and Dravid's performance hit the bottom when they were Indian captain for a short stint.
This is why I rate Ganguli very high as batsman as he had the take the pressure of Indian captainship for a long period.
