Batting first is brave decision on this pitch. He took 2 spinners because most likely they will bowl in 4th inning.
Good decision.

He would have picked team first , then toss... isn't it?

It looks good having won the toss.. .. if it is other way around ( Aus batting) ...

Dhoni is the Vice captain of the team and so he became Captain. Where comes Sehwag in this test as captain?

May be he when Dhoni doesnt deliver as in ODI.

There is no vice captain for this series. So I think team management decided it.

Rightly said , if Kakaji kumble is captain for more years , Dhoni will get multiple opportunity to lead in test & prove his point

if the seniors have bcome a 'BOJH' for the team as well as 4 cricket fans
then drop everyone of them including sachin
and make a new test team with new captain
see the results
if well and good then goodbye to all seniors
if the young team fails then what?

Difference between Sachin & Other Indian cricketers
by Gautam De on Oct 17, 2008 07:41 AM  | Hide replies

Yes, we hear that Sachin is god. His humility is peerless. But there is a reason for that too.
Sachin has ALWAYS BEEN SPARED by media. Never anyone in Indian press dared to question his frequent injury, failure in critical matches too harshly. Whereas Kumble, Dravid and ablve all in Indian cricket, Ganguly has been bashed like anything right from day 1, even on a day he scored a 100.

Its possible for even a man like Kumble to make an outnurst - just like Dada did a few days back. Sachin has the luxury to remain a silent gentleman as he never had to endure the ruthless and on many occasions worthless venom from the media and BCCI.

Kumble havn't decided yet
by Jatin Desai on Oct 17, 2008 07:37 AM  | Hide replies

Munaf & Dhoni will have to wait till toss to know whether their duties for nation will be different.

On other hand Peter Siddle has one full day to prepare & strategise how to get Fab4. This rookies will add new dimention to challange fab4 faces

Kumble is putting himself above the country.
Not only Munaf... even a makeshift captain Dhoni will have to wait until last minute.
Now, Anil really needs a kick.

All Senior has been behaving like this... Sachin's record breaking century( 34 or 35 whatever who cares) in B'desh 2004-5 has blood of Gambir's runout...

Sachin/Ponting
by prasheen mothukuri on Oct 17, 2008 03:31 AM  | Hide replies

Whats so great in Sachin crossing Lara record considering the following reasons.
1.He is not as consistent as Ponting.
2.His batting average is less than Ponting
3.His hundreds are slighty more than Ponting.
4.When anyhow Ponting will cross him
5.When Ponting played great match winnings knocks in second innings
6.When Ponting twin hundred three times in 5 months

Note: To feel great about this milestone, he should perform consistenly by preparing himself mentally very well in every innings and score a fifty or hundred or big innings like Sehwag/Bradman and also his batting average should be far better than Ponting.

Ponting is the greatest after Bradman

Aussie Conspiracy...
by sg on Oct 17, 2008 12:28 AM  | Hide replies

At the beginning of this series Ponting said that they will not let Sachin get past Lara's record. And since been introducing a debutant bowler in each match. I think this is a conspiracy.
Mr. Ponting if you are a man enough, we dare you to bring on Warne or somebody of that repute. And then let’s see how it goes!

dont speak like a pathetic loser. they 're free to bring in anyone they like in their team - why shud it be a friggin conspiracy?! r u a politician or a drama-writer yaar?!
just b'cos sachin cudnt get past his 40s hiccups & succumbed, that doesnt mean they hve 2 bring out warne from retirement just becos sachin plays him well!!
be a man...accept things as they are happening!
