Guys, Where is the 1 of the hero of T20 World Cup...Joginder Singh? He helped us win in couple of matches, isn't he? He seems to be thrown out completely.
Re: Joginder Singh
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:11 PM
I thik MS DHoni wants to take the credit for the final over completely that is why He never selected Joginder Sharma in ODI side after He bcame captain of Indian Team but He is only confined to being a T20 specialist..............................
Re: Joginder Singh
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 16, 2008 05:15 PM
Yaar, selectors should think about that. Otherwise why Gambhir, Yuvraj and RP SIngh are selected? They are real performers in 20-20 WC.
Re: Joginder Singh
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:19 PM
I was just kidding to watch Ur reaction but I think Joginder Sharma deserved atleast one(1) ODI Match after T20 world cup, Even though it was not gr8 but atleast He made a difference..........................
Re: Joginder Singh
by Amarendra Joshi on Oct 16, 2008 05:16 PM
it was joginder sharma's bowling itself which added so exitement to match ....i think his figures where 4 overs and 60 runs....may b somewhat near tht atleast....no line no length and no pace....i dnt see nything as a crickter in that fellow
Re: Re: Joginder Singh
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:22 PM
I think Ur wrong coz it was Harbhajan Singh who concedde lot of runs in the penultimate over that is in 19th over in which Misbah-ul-haq scored 3 6er's, I think Joginder Sharma should given atleast some credit for that.................................
Australian selectors always give importance to performance rather than Age or any other factor, If U look at their selection of some players they select a player like Michael Clarke who was just 23 years old and a potential talent with gr8 leadership qualities and at the same time they pick Michael Hussey after He scores 15,000 runs in Domestic Matches and He makes International debut at 29 years of Age, Most of Australian selectors ar not bothered about age but about performance of a player coz it is performance which is more important rather than age or any other factor.
For example players like Dinesh Mongia, Mohammed Kaif got so many chances but apart from performances in 3 or 4 Matches their performance was not consistent that is why it is more important to pick new players who are more consistent than those who score in just 3 or 4 Matches and then flop........

S.Macgill and B.Hogg took retirement when they could play 2-3 years more from Aus because they were best after Warne's retirement. Aussies always surprize by taking retirement at the time when they are playing good.
Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:01 PM
S.Mcgill and Brad Hogg did not take retirement coz they wanted to, They did not get enough chances, BTW Stuart Mcgill was 37 and He got opportunity only after Shane Warne retired, Similarly Brad Hogg did not get enough opportunities earlier but when He got He made some useful contributions but He failed in CB tri-series which was last tri-series in Australia and that s why He retired.........

Why Kumble is not thinking like B.Hogg, while he is not performing since more than 1 year.
Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:13 PM
How can U say He did not perform since 1 year when India won Pewrth test Match in Australia in the 3-mobile Test series, In fact it is one(1) of the best victories for India overseas, Anil Kumble performance was decent in Sri Lanka coz it was the Indian batting apart from Viru Sehwag which failed to click in the 3 Test Matches, How can U be so harsh on a captain of Indian Test Team..........................
Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 16, 2008 05:17 PM
I am just talking about his bowling. His average is 39 in last 1 year. Against SriLanka and SA more than 50. Against Aus 42. Is it good?
Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................

India also believes in the same principle, thats why we got so many players 30/30 , Viru, Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, Zaheer, Kumble. This combination 7 (who are 30 now) is there for the last 7 years. If we add Bhajji to the list of permanents it becomes 8. Then where is the scope for opportunity for others. Opportunity left was for a wicketkeeper & 2 more bowler : Which is grabbed by Dhoni. Though Dhoni is an average cricketer, he has become a threat for fab 4.
Regarding Australia Cricketer, they top stars play in domestic cricket when ever they have offs from International Cricket. Whereas our stars were seen more on ramps, endorsing etc. How do you draw comparision between current stars vs aspiring stars, when our top stars skip domestic events. Thus you have players like Yuvi/Kaif/Mongia... may be average talents, who have come to the center stage by luck / quota.

How can U say that Indian players dont playbin Domestic Matches, Then how come Saurav Ganguly make a comeback when He was dropped in 2006 after Saurav gangulky-Greg Chapell fiasco...............................

Re: Re: Re: Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................
by SachinTheGreat on Oct 16, 2008 05:03 PM
Apart from those who are playin, I mean among players like Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, Swapil Asnodkar, Chateshwar Pujara and Shikhar Dhawan..............................
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Australian Team gives importance to performance and not Age..........................
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 16, 2008 05:08 PM
Raina, Yuvraj, Kohli, Pujara, Y.Pathan are good.
Guys. Don't get over the moon. Siddle is a pretty good bowler and bowled impressively during India's practice match against Victoria in the tour down under. He was very quick and impressive during Australia's tour practice match against Board's president eleven in Mohali.
Mohali is expected to offer seam and bounce. Siddle could be the surprise weapon. If our batsmen underestimate him then they would do so at their own peril.

Same was said abt Shoaib Akhtar. he bowled Sachin on 1st ball in Edens. Before that it was Lance Klusener who was taken lightly. Same result. he kicked Indian batsmen where it Hurts the most. Therefore, overzealous Indian fans shud restrain themselves from setting high expectations. Otherwise we already have lots of Heart Attack patients in India daily

Hey, do u ppl have habit to publish such long list of names? I see very often.
But, very poor choice and selection of players!!!! LOL

jobless fellow..why r u wasting time typing this list..as if srikanth n hirwani r goign to read this and chose team.get a life
This guy bowls line and lenght stuff at 125 k pace..whats the big deal. Even ganguly used to bowl. And so does robin singh in 90's.NOt having pace of Lee, swing of johnson and the aggression of mcgrath. Indians led by Sachin would have smashed him wicketless in the mohali test. Bad luck India!
Re: Useless overrated bowler
by Harishankar S on Oct 16, 2008 04:09 PM
he is consistent with his line and commands a good economy rate. that made him a permanent member of his team. cannot compare him ganguly (who was in the team for his batting) and robin (for allround performance).
