delhi in danger
by raghavendra on Oct 17, 2008 02:09 AM

Play half fit kumble at mohali, ground he likes very much and india will risk him loosing at delhi. Give him rest and let a seamer take his place is the best for india taking series into account.

Ian Chappel is taking on Kumble
by Notout_Naveen on Oct 16, 2008 02:56 PM

The same Ian Chappel had written Sachin off after 2007 worldcup but no one stood up to defend Sachin n Indian team (including media).. It was this ANIL KUMBLE who gave him a fitting reply and defended scahin saying "What Ian chapplel has done to Indian cricket?? Sachin has done 17 years service to Indian cricket team and he knows at the best what time to call a day'...n ofcourse Sachin replied him back with his performnace in Aus tour...

Now, Kumble is struggling to get his rythm right ( it can happen to any cricketer irrespective of age)..so Ian Chappel finds this is the best time to make an amends..so he is all after Kumble in the concluded Banglore test match...

But sadly our media which couldnt defend even Sachin is now supporting Ian Chappel's view again & making it hard for Kumble..Kumble is right in writing aginst media n joker Ian Chappel..

Media before making everthing on the headline pls do some soul searching..

Kumble should retire......
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 16, 2008 09:59 AM

It is not a matter of only last test. He is not performing since more than 1 year.
Now talendors are also playing him very well. May be he can take 5 wickets in a match of this series. But the basis of that one performance he will continue 2-3 series more. It is not good for India.

Injured Kumble determined to turn up for his country!!!
by G on Oct 15, 2008 11:36 PM  | Hide replies

I think Kumble will serve his country better by taking rest and healing his shoulders instead of turning up for his country as an injured player.

Mishra or Ojha should be given the chance till Kumble is 100% fit.

Mishra or Ojha are both untried and there is a tremendous risk playing them. In Mohali India should play additional pace bowler if Kumble is unfit.

It has never spun, but then Sehwag has no footwork either.
Bottom line is, these guys have heart and that is more important than anything else.

well said, Jerry. You have drawn an interesting parallel. For a player to take a wicket, the ball neednt have huge spin. Just like Sehwag whose footwork is not at all good, but he still manages to score runs at will.

ANother case in point is that the same people who were after Ganguly's life started talking exact opposite after this retirement announcement. What will the same people say if India wins, will they praise Kumble's captaincy.

@vikram does'nt matter if his ball spins or not he has over 600 wickets, we've seen bowlers who spin the ball a mile but they've not been as successfull.

Dude his balls spin and they spin jujst enough to trouble the batsmen world over. Don;t forget he has more than 600 test wickets which includes 10 all 10 wickets in an innings, not achieved by the best of the spinners like Warne or Murli (they are far better bowlers than him) and that is no fluke
