ICL is nothing but a way to rub BCCI the wrong way
by Aditya on Oct 16, 2008 12:57 AM

When Zee lost out on the tender for telecast rights on Cricket played in India, Zee waited for a oppurtune time to create a rebel league. Zee would have never come up with ICL if they were the telecasters instead of Neo Sports...

First find a replacement who is performing better than Dhoni.
A.Mishra and P.Chawla are performing good and able to replace Kumble.

What is the use of replacement? All are same category. They will play till they feel secured. Than ads will come and they will start performing pathetically.

Kumble on Ganguly's way.....
by Anurag Rathore on Oct 15, 2008 04:24 PM  | Hide replies

Now he is talking about his past records like Ganguly.

Kumble : I did not have a good game, my third in 130 games without a wicket but I am the only player in current cricket who has a 100 Australian scalps.

Kumble is not performing since more than 1 year. It is not a matter of only 1 test. Kumble should think about it.

Kumble has indicated about his retirement, may be after England tour in Dec-2008.
Bear for some more time, considering his past achievements.

Kumble should learn from Dravid, Sachin and Laxman. They never talk about their past records in criticism.

What's wrong if Kumble talks about his past record ? The highest wicket taker of India should not be misjudged based on one test against Australia.
Please give him due credit for his achievement.

BCCI fiefdom
by Panthera Leo on Oct 15, 2008 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

Cricket cannot be the fiefdom of BCCI. It is a game and whoever does something good in the interest of the game must be accepted. Therefore BCCI must accept Kapil Dev, Subhash Chandra Goel, Zee group, ICL and everybody who is in the interest of the sport. A cow which gives good milk must also be fed well.

But others you mentioned are there for making money by investing on Cricket Talents.

but the world knows his avg of a poor 23 in last 2 yrs does not guarantee him a place in tests

then why not other people judge players with t20

Hey, not about benefits to the game, it benefits the players.

So many talents wasting their time by playing cricket without recognition and rewards. How can they play so passionately if they are not rewarderd?

ICL can be a choice for them to earn by entertaining the crowd. 20/20 never can replace Tests.

"Sachin is the best batsman in the world and my brother would be more than happy to hand over the record to him. There can never be a better batsman than him to hold this record.

However, he cautioned that it will ultimately be Australian captain Ricky Ponting who would soon eclipse the master blaster.

3rd Div league, in England there are 5 divisions. But for the guy to bring his league he would have to first make it sustainable then only the authorities would take note. Dont worry we have enough space for many more. In England (population 5Cr) there are 5 leagues & 1000 soccer fields...

WHAT IS CURRENT SITUATION OF ENGLANDS FOOTBALL???? englands team run & around Bekham a overrated player who always fails on international platform.

if we introduce so many league in indian cricket, it will be only business like england football & no cricket progress as a game.

Did u happen to watch Bekham play in the last game for England. His kick resulted in a Header by Rooney into the goal. His other 2 passes 2 were spot on but the England forward found the Keeper & Goal Post.He was on for 15 Minutes but in that time England scored Twice.Secondly all Free Kicks , Corners were taken by Lampard but the moment Bekham came on feild Lampard just left it to him.Somehow Palongtod or Bed breaker or Katiyatod whatever your name suits you becuase you just seem to Break into Wrong Grounds everytime.Little or No Knowledge is dangerous as it only helps ion spreading rumours..

The England team has always been a Team of Superstars. Each & Every Coach has had the same problem. How to deal with these Egoistics guys.If you see the current team it can beat any Team in the world. What they lack is TEAM SPIRIT.This has sadly happened because of all the amnosity each Club has for each other & it is then reflected between players.Chelsea Players vs ManU players vs Arsenal vs Liverpool vs the list goes on.With the huge amts of money that each Club pays its Superstars ,automatically there is more loyalty to club than team.If you also noticed last weeks game you would note the following points.
1) Lampard & Terry both were not Coordinationg well even though they play together in Chelsea but different positions
2) Peter Crouch never got a game on inspite of Wrights playing below par.
3)Owens has not been selected despite being in Superb form where he has scored 5 Goals so far.
4) The defense was not coordinating well & a lapse resulted in a Goal.
The list is on.Even celegrations on feild were more Close & happier with team mates from Own Club..for e.g. Brown celebrating Rooneys goal.We to must caution against such a thing happening in cricket.

Anurag... May be they were the best replacements... Team was split in1999 series.

Mr Ajit Wadekar made sachin captain & he went hiding for 8 hours before accepting the post. It was wrong move.. Ganguly was workign overtime to become captain from World cup 199 days. (Reported by Gaikead in his report)

These youngster could not perform under these team environment.

There was continous spat between Ganguly & Tendu entire series... Famous one was Ganguly refusing to play one of the last onedays after series of losses

ganguly's odi avg in 2000 was 46
his test avg in 2000 was 48
and countinous failures under sachin
and sachin himself was struggling with bat
so it was a uninamus decision by the selectors to give captaincy to ganguly
