They hv thrown out 2 of India's finest understated gems... Ratan Tata & Sourav!!!

Both men of Steel

Modi has embraced one smartly!

Who will the other embrace?

Vengsarkar... a few qns?/
by rsg on Oct 12, 2008 05:36 PM

Ganguly has denied saying anything against the selectors. The issue should be over now. But, why Dilip Vengsarkar is upset? Did he take your name? Or is he feeling guilty over his deeds? Dropping a player in a home series, who has just scored his maiden double hundred in the previous home series? People should be ready to accept their mistakes. While Dravid, Laxman and to some extend Sachin did escape despite of bad scores behind their name, its always Ganguly who faced the ire of the selectors. Check the comparative scores of all the four in the last three series and the selectors should answer why Ganguly was dropped from Irani trophy while others were given the chance? If he was dropped on basis of his form, how he was selected for the test series?Selectors should feel themselves accountable and answer queries.Dilip Vengsarkar should think that he is GOD and not answerable. If you are ready answer we supporters of Indian cricket. Why did you drop Ganguly again and again?

Well don DADA
by Akshay Badnapurkar on Oct 12, 2008 03:06 PM

It is proved that if somebody demand for locality in BCCI then he should be slapped. Ganguly is trying to show the truth or the presence of politics than cricket in BCCI but nobody supports him. But i am sure he will fight back Well done dada well done.

Ganguly can be spared but can Vengsarkar also
by suman das on Oct 11, 2008 07:16 PM  | Hide replies

Ganguly says that he never said anything. It may be frame work of some sensation starved journalist. And Ganguly will be spared possibly for no fault of him. But if vengsarkar has responded then he may be required to complete his response. Possibly he may not get a chance deny it as the framing of journalist.

Even if DADA had said that, there is nothing wrong in it. How long can a player of DADA's rank bear the frustration and humiliation of being overlooked for selection ahead of these jokers like Yuvraj Singh and their likes. If Vengsarkar talks of viewing selection on merit, then the MASTER LIABILITY must also be left out along with the other SENIOR LIABILITIES. BCCI always has a different yardstick for Delhi and Mumbai (especially Mumbai) and Rest of India. Ganguly isnt the first one to be treated like this. Real cricket lovers would know the cases of how Srinivas Venkatraghavan was made to retire due to the SUNIL GAVASKAR. Indian Board always has the habit of humiliating great players. Its DADA now. Thats it.

The BCCI should take some strict action against this as such statements are needless and can affect the morale and spirit of the whole squad

Ganguly will get an answer after Aus series: Vengsarkar
by Hebbar R on Oct 11, 2008 01:22 PM

No comments about te spat between Vengsarkar and Ganguly. But, when Vengsarkar responds, it will be good if he can also throw some light about what transpired during the England series to make Dravid announce his resignation from Captaincy.
