Ganguly
by IndianGuy on Oct 11, 2008 01:34 PM

Its became fashion to everybody to use the media to throw mud on others and then deny after some time.
Sachin did the same against Greg, Ganguly seen doing this a lot of times against selectors.

The statements used like ""Everything happens in Indian cricket. When Greg Chappell dropped me, he chose T P Singh to replace me. Where is he now?" Ganguly asked.

"Some have not scored any runs in the last three series, some have not scored any run during the last one year. Some have changed their hair style more number of times than the number of runs they have scored. I was dropped despite scoring the highest number of runs following my comeback."

These r humiliating comments against those team mates who played with you for years.

Somebody should take this and take strong action against the NEWS paper if Ganguly didnt said these words and BCCI should take action against ganguly if these r real words.

Every body should take DRAVID as the best example when it comes to talking. He never spoke about why he resigned to the captaincy and never uttered anything against selectors when he was dropped, came back strong with hard work.

Sachin - The Great
by IndianGuy on Oct 11, 2008 10:51 AM

Sachin gone playing too early. u know there is a cover point placed and bowler will bowl a slower ball and still he didint checked his shot and got out giving a dolly catch.

These days Every opposition captain knows how to get sachin's wicket and it's horrible to see this so called greatest batsman in the world gets into these traps easily.

Sachin, when you play a knock under pressure when the team needs you? We always see you getting out quickly and watching other players fight for their life.

How completely idiotic of Ganguly to come out and bad mouth the selectors in the middle of arguably the most important Test series this year.

Why on earth he couldn't wait for few more weeks? And may i ask, what is he on about? His performance on the field in the first couple of days of this test has only convinced the detractors that Ganguly is indeed living on borrowed time.

At this rate, I can't see how he warrants selection in all 4 Tests.

Indian Test team Post Fab four and Anil Kumbley era
by Tanoy on Oct 11, 2008 02:57 AM

I am trying to design an Indian test team for next five years for post fab 4 and Anil Kumbley era particularly for the Seaming wkt of Englad, NewZealand and bouncy track of South Africa and Australia. But fact that there is no right combination who can match fab four. In two three places there si big uncertainty. Regular place I can see only Shewag, Gauti, Ishanth , Zaheer and Bhajji( Depends how much pressure they can take after Fab four and Kumbley. Because these 5 were umbrella of Indian Test team. I still feel at least Sachin or any other should be there to groom that team.see the composition-
Opening slot-
Washim Jafar/srivatsa Goswami
Gautam Gambhir

Middle order
Virat Koheli
V Shewag
Rohit Sharma
Yuvraj Sing/Yusuf Pathan/Suresh Raina
MS Dhoni/Wriddhiman saha

Late order
Irfan Pathan/ Pradeep Sangwan
Pjiush Chawla/Amit Mishra
Harbhajan Sing
Zaheer Khan
Ishanth Sharma

Now if you look at my team I am feeling there will be a big Vacuum after retirement of Fab Four. India Can't do Luxury to play Shewag in opening slot as he will be the main pillar of Indian Batting. Washim Jafar has good technique. But Young under 19 opener S Goswami is a good. In Middle order Virat Koheli reminds me Rahul Dravid most of the time. Yusuf Pathan is the one who can be Symond of India. Yuvraj, Raina and Dhoni don't have better technique for test cricket. Irfan is another wasted product. If he doe not show is debut promise, Sanghwan is there. But Fact is that those are not fab4&kubley.

If i meet the curator of BAngalore pitch..........
by Bhasmasur on Oct 11, 2008 02:11 AM  | Hide replies

I will give him a resounding slap on the face for preparing such an apology of a pitch...on such a sleeping pitch, slow and low, even if a match is played over 10 days, there will be no result...it is high time the BCCI takes such curators to task and cuts their fees per match or dismisses them!!

Such useless morons are killing the spectacle of cricket....such pitches are hopeless and useless......not too many runs can be scored neither too many wickets!!

Aussies managed only 254 on this pitch in one day...and Aussies generally score 375 in one day's play on normal pitches!!

Such pitches are destroying the game of test cricket in India.....

so what do u want? crumbling wickets where the match gets over in 3 days? do u want BCCI to prepare turners and place our already hyped spinners on a pedestal? be fair and also accept aussies haev prepared well for this series. only3 of their batsmen really scored but they did their job well enough to take the score past 400. zaheer and ishant can't get 5 and 4 wickets on dull tracks. b'lore pitch is hard at this time of the year and assists pace bowlers.

The pitch is a sleeping beauty!!!!!!! It reminds me of the old Kanpur pitch in the 70s and 80s.....600 plus scores were the norm!!
Also Faisalabad pitch in Pakistan.....such pitches don't help the game at all!!

And Zaheer got his wickets with luck...and Ishant got two of his 4 wickets with slower balss...the pitch had nothing to do with it!!

Now see how Mohali will be an exciting test...cos that pitch is really good.....nice pace and bounce, which also helps spinners!!

if zaheer and ishant got their wickets with luck and slower balls what were our slower bowlers spin Gods doing eh? stop being sarcastic of everything in life. do u remember match against england in 2001? it was also played in winter amidst some rains and srinath took 4 wickets against england in gloomy conditions. kumble struggled to get wickets in that match.

I'am not being sarcastic!! The point i'am making is that Kumble has not lost his magic overnight, right??
He has been a great bowler for more than 15 years and thus if he is struggling, that can be attributed to the lack of pace in the pitch!!!!

Point i'am making is that Kumble style of bowling requires some pace in pitch!!

Good Job
by natarajan natarajan on Oct 11, 2008 02:08 AM  | Hide replies

I would say india did a good job restricting ausis for 430 with 2 batsmans scoring century, managed to do that with 2 pacers .. not sure why india had just opted 2 pacers,, an extra pacer should have been very effective o a bangalore track. but now its rurn of our batsmans to score well.. so that spinners can try out something in the second innings ..

But records show that our batsmans doesn't have impressive record on Bangalore against Ausis..

RP Singh is a decent option in Mohali in addition to wonderful Ishant and Zaheer.....the reason is that RP Singh has an inswinger that goes away from lefties and he can put Katich, Hussey and Hayden in lot of trouble!!
Kumble and Bhajji bowl very well in Mohali so will have to go one batsman short.....
Maybe Ganguly sits out in Mohali and Dhoni bats at no6........

Why Ganguly is an a-hole
by LeaveSRKandSachinAlone on Oct 11, 2008 01:33 AM  | Hide replies

So if he has decided to retire, why fuel a controversey right at the start of an important series? This shows he dosen't bother one heck about the team if he is not captain of the team. No wonder all the Indian players used to feel uncomfortable with him in the team.

iam sure the team is not bothered abt the controversy. They wont care abt all these..But now Ganguly should shut his mouth and concentrate on scoring as many runs as possible in this series o that he would be remembered for good reasons.
