You are one of the greatest captain and a player India has seen.I started watching cricket during the period which you lead the Indian team.I loved your aggression. You led the team to some unforgettable series wins.I salute you with true respect "dada".You are the greatest forever.

i don't understand why media go and ask pak opinion on indian cricketers.. Don't they have any other topic to discuss?.. Just silly.. indian media are just joker. I would suggest them to use your power for better.

So media should come to you for your opinion? Do you have better knowledge of cricket or you have seen Ganguly closer than them?
It wasnt a security issue that Indian media went to pak army for thier help.

Great Innings

Most of you will call me parochial for writing this. Coz I am a Bengali.

Ganguli's contribution to Indian cricket is immense. Particularly in terms of "loooking eye ball to eyeball" into the opposition.

The precocious talent that India has in abundance developed seeing Ganguli's aggression, which though wasnt always purists delight, but greatly effective. How long could India be gracious losers.

He took over the helm at a time the world cricket, particularly Indian cricket, was reeling under match fixing scandal.

He, by and large, stayed away from regionalism. Player's were selected on merit. Perhaps Deep Dasgupta was the only exception. But then again was there a brilliant keeper at the time?

People talk about his weakness facing fast bowling. Agreed he looks awkward playing the leg side shots and didnt perform well against Australia. But his batting average doesnt seem to suggest anything radically negative.

Ganguly you will be remembered for changing the attitude of the Indian Cricketers. The present generation of cricketers have been greatly influenced by the way you faced opposition, as a captain. I am sure they will build on it.

I m a hardcore dada fan, only 4 obvious reasons as like others. The only sportsperson that I have followed truly from the point whn I started understanding cricket better, was him. He is no less than a god to me. The controversies over him didn't help the cause of Indian cricket being taken to the next higer level. The point from where he took over and the point where he left was a complete turn-around. We all admire Md. Azhar but he's an exception. The killer instinct and the attitude that he transfered into the young lads has a proof that we are the winners of T20 world cup.All the yuvraj's and zaheer's, bhajji's and dhoni's are still there only bcoz he showed confidence in them and then for no good reason he's regarded as selfish cricketer, but coming down the order so that sehwag and sachin can perform better and many such decisions show his commitment towards team and country. He went thru a lean patch but then who doesn't. Even then, he had an avg bettering quite a few in nd accross teams. He avgd around 34 during 05-06 ( if m not wrong ) whn he was dropped. It was a clear indication of an org bowing to 1 man who is a black spot on indian cricket, responsible for ruining the likes of pathan who was another find of our very own dada. All in all 1 can say that his sparkling career has been blemished by some unnecessary incidents into whch he got dragged. Even after all this, his long list of achievements are enough 2 mark him as 1 on the gr8's the game has seen..Prabodh

What about his selfishness and his attitude towards laxman? still now laxman got a worse
treatment from three old friends (Ganguly,Dravid and Kumble) if he's(Laxman)in other country he might reach great honours.

I am a sachin fan. But I feel very bad by thinking that I cant see Dada's Lovely offside batting and strong sixes anymore. He is a true leader. His life is certainly can be taken as a casestudy for management students. Hats-off Dada.
