selection of the test team
by Guest on Oct 05, 2008 05:01 PM

selection process should be computerised, based on performance- a points system. This should apply to all first-class players. We should eliminate all humans from the selection process. This would be the only objective way to reach our goal of selecting the most deserving team. dipankar mukherjee, vienna,va, usa.

TIME HAS COME TO KICK THESE PLAYERS OFF DERSSING ROOM.........
by rajendra rao on Oct 05, 2008 03:03 PM  | Hide replies

Except Sachin and Kumble, rest of the seniors are a genuine burden on indian cricket.
These Seniors are the most shameless bunch of cricketers one can see....after so much of humiliation Ganguly still thrives to come back ...on the cost of talented players like Manoj tiwary/Rohit Sharma/Virat Kohli/Md. Kaif....selectors needs to rethink about what and who they are selecting....Please do not go by emotion and act Professional for God's sake...
These guys won't retire by themselves....nor they have any zeal or thirst left in them to win matches...All they are doing is to make some more xtra bucks by staying on.....or for betterment of their personal records.....
If these players have any sense of self respect left..then these guys should retire with dignity.......
If these guys want to serve india better then they should open a cricket academy and groom youngsters ...such that indian audience can see more Rahul, Saurbh, Laxman.....
Guys its a genuine appeal....Please spare us......and leave........please go out of the indian team......go home , take rest..and let the Indian audience miss u.....we want to miss u guys......

Australians are very professional in their approach to the game and are far superior to others.India is trying to beat them depending on its spinners solely which is a pathetic and narrow approach. It seems that the Aussies will remain NO.1 for years to come unless a miracle happens. India may succeed in beating them once in a while whereas the Aussies have beaten all others consistently except South Africa.S.Africa is the only team that gives the Aussies some competition. This is reflected in the ICC rankings where they maintain 1 & 2 ranks respectively.
I fervently hope that India perform the miracle(although it seems unlikely)since India is the only country on the surface of this planet Earth where cricket reigns supreme above all other games. In all other cricket playing countries(very few-around 10 countries) ,cricket is secondary to some other game.

Players Retirement Plan
by razak on Oct 04, 2008 07:15 PM  | Hide replies

This is really good news that board is discussing with players for retirement plan, this will support younger players and also keep the respect of retireing player so that whether he perform or not in the last series they will not be insulted by the media and public. The great players should be given the mak of respect on retirement not that they are thrown out of the team with there performance in one series. We should take into consideration what good they have given to india. the best out of the best. just imagine this 5 players has ruled the cricket world add there runs no other country players will match the total. this proves the greatness of our players. for this we have to give mark of respect on retirement. Media should treat the players in same way as they do when the players on peak.
ONCE AGAIN CONGRATES BCCI FOR TAKING THIS DECISION.
IT IS REALLY SAD TO KNOW FROM MEDIA WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I REQUEST MEDIA PERSON TO THINK WHAT THEY ARE DOING. WHOM THEY ARE INSULTING WHOM THEY WANT TO THROW OUT. THEY ARE INDIANS OUR OWN BROTHERS HOW CAN ANYBODY INSULT BROTHERS. WE HAVE TO FIGHT WITH OTHERS IF THEY INSULT US NOT THAT WE ONLY INSULT OUR OWN PLAYERS AND GIVE CHANCE TO OTHERS TO PUT MORE CHILLI.

Distraction!!
by azad hindustan on Oct 04, 2008 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

Our media might be the only one which distacts their own players! The English or Australian media go absolutely all-out to try and distact visiting players to gain advantage for their players. However unseemly the coverage may be.

But, out immature media does the opposite! Right or wrong is a different issue, but I think we should give back what we get while touring other countries.
