Mr. More is saying that when the name is not included in Irani trophy, how Ganguly got the place in test team. Just getting name in the Irani list will not sufficient to get in to the test team. It seems that just putting the name of Tendulkar, he can play against Aussies, whether he is fit or unfit. What's wrong in Ganguly getting the spot. All the seniors failed in Sri Lanka (Ganguly is not the only player), then why More have no guts to say that TENDULKAR SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE TEST TEAM. They are just behind Ganguly. That is his unfate.
Rohit just made a century and it will be hard to ignore him. He is in really good form. Maybe it would be wise to sit out one of the four bigs in every match Sachin/Laxman/Rahul/Ganguly and instead give chance to Rohit/Badrinath. For the first match at Mohali, Sachin can sit out, as he hasn't had a match from long time and needs more rest.
Similarly, they should induce one of Pragyan/Piyush and sit out Harbhajhan. Aussies have prepared hard against Bhajji and will be going hard on him to settle some scores. The newcomer will throw them off as a surprise. (Ideally Kumble might be a better candidate to sit out, but don't see how that can happen since he is Captain)

This is the problem we have, One Century and they should be included... He did decently in 20/20 and a few one days after that has been flopping big Time in the last 2 to 3 one day series.... He is really talented, but let him perform well both domestic and foreign ( India-A assignments etc)
Was it a selection match? No it was a joke. They gave chance for every batsman to prove, nothing worth came out. Ganguli and Tendulkar made to 11, without playing Irani cup. There was no point to keep Ganguli out of Irani cup and selecting him later. Dravid and Laxman are genuine triers and they would come up well against Aussies, There is bit of worry for Ganguli and Sachin. They both have terrific records, but eventually records dont play for you in the middle, it may help you selction but may not while playing against quality bowling, your form is important. Sachin and Saurav failed against average Srilanka Bowling. This will help Aussies in test series, who have better faster bowlers. Mind you its not Mendis getting these guys out always, they did fall to medium pace as well.

tendulkar always blasts against aussies so any mad man can think to exclude tendulkar from team against aussies. in srilanka not only sachin and saurav, all indian team collapse against murli and mendis therefore why only sachin and saurav should punish??????????? without sachin indian team will defenitely collase against aussies.nobody should have to forget sachin importance in two finals of one day series in australia.

Ganguly needs to retire in a dignified manner and I appreciate the selection board for giving him a place in the team. He was an Ex captain and has played some wonderful knocks in his career.Let us send the senior cricketers in a more graceful manner.

Fentastic selection really....Having Dravid at 5 will give all options where he can diffend and he can play some shots... VVS at #3 all through the series would be good.
Indian team should not get complacent from the fact that Australian team does not have many world class players. They are going to give a tough fight to India.
