Symonds says that he "did not in anyway PROVOKE this situation"...Does that mean he expects the provoker to be punished and the provoked be let off??? Doesn't this principle apply to Australia on the field, when they are **ALWAYS** the provokers, but still are always let off while the provoked have to bear the punishment???
yaar he is a cricketer...his job is to give 100% while he is playing for his country...and no body can dare challenge his on field commitment, whether he is batting, bowling or fielding..he is a pure joy to watch on the cricket ground( ofcourse if u r a true CRICKET lover)...
media has to earn their bread too...so they need these kind of stories... this is a very personal incident in anyones life...has happened to all of us...so y such limelight...

People like Symonds, Afridi, Dhoni are bringing power hitting in Cricket.....there is no elegance to those shots. Soon cricket will get boring like Tennis became after Power servers came in to the Tennis scene.

You got a point. But cricket is also about talent and making the good use of it in the feild. Success is what matters.

They over plan the sledging thing, and implementing plans do consume time in the centre. One reason why they are short of time.

WEll RAvi,
What you say applies in equal measure to the brats and clowns in the Indian team too, like Bhajji and Sreesanth! So better better clean up your own backyard before commenting on someone else's backyard!

"So better better clean up your own backyard "??? "Your"...Mr Hari N ....Where is your backyard??? in India or in OZ land??
Symonds is a great athlete but not a very nice man. He can not keep his temper in check, and the game can do without such prima donnas who court trouble and then hide behind their "colour" to get away with it. The statement he has made is obviously drafted by a lawyer; Symonds himself is not capable of saying anything other than four-letter words.
