Congratulations to Dhoni & crew for 4-0 lead and series win
by Sneha on Nov 26, 2008 03:23 PM

Wow!That's the Mahi way!

Dhoni, you almost made the visiting England team realize that now, against India, they are not only hapless but also helpless and are unable to resist the Indian challenge.

Special thanks and congratulations to the entire team, which made the 19-run win happen. Especially wishes to Viru for his 68 and 6,000 ODI runs & MoM award,Gambhir for 40(37),
Yuvi & Yusuf not out 25(11) & a finishing 6 respectively. But,Sachin being the only change in the Indian squad & also a matter of curiousity and expectation for the Indians, couldn't play a helpful knock and yielded at 11 run score, felt sad.

One thing's for sure that our fielding was really laudatory in the end overs following the rain-play twice in B'luru.Gambhir catching the slippery and wet ball and Sachin's Collingwood catch were awesome. The new Indian find from North India, Ishant, claimed two prime wickets, Flintoff 41(30)& Pietersen; also
Zak claimed Shah 72(48), Samit Patel, Munaf claimed 2 wicks(one of the 2 was Collingwood's wick caught by Sachin inspite of wet & slippery ball. & a run out).

Now, the only thing that is yet to be experienced is a straight 7-0 sweep. All the best for the same.

India Win The series

Please give him a chance.
The selectors negligence has ruined the careers of many talents like Subrata Banerjee, Dilip Doshi,Shunte Bannejee, Narendra Hirwani and so on.
Give him a chance now only. This is the time.

Yes... If it that English bowlers find it hard in India, the same is about Indian batsmen when they go to England. Then, why talk of INdia's weakness against swing?
Even that seems to be thing of the past. Indian batsmen have been facing swing very well of late.

congratulations with a pinch of salt

I think KP was very smart in his reply. He did congratulate india for their performance but also mentioned that India are weak against swing and bounce and that England were unlucky because the pitches were flat .Now that is garbage, i remember the english bowlers bowling consistently between, 142-145 kph and extracting bounce and pace which is why India managed so many boundaries in the first place.

Pujara, consecutive 3rd big hundred of ranji trophy, had 302 n.o. against Orissa and 189 vs Punjab, and now third consecutive century of 176 off just 173 balls vs mumbai.
n these runs after another 2 triple centuries in ck nayudu trophy just last month.

gr8 run riot in domestic ckt, just like yuv show in odis. what a boy he is.

DL METHOD - UNFAIR TO TEAM BATTING 2ND
by rambo only on Nov 24, 2008 09:19 PM  | Hide replies

This method is blatantly unfair to Team 2. recall how South Africa, requiring 22 off 13 balls to reach the World Cup finals, were suddenly asked to score 21 runs in one ball when a short shower took two overs away! (the rule merely chopped off two 'tiny' overs, which yielded 1,0 runs, from the right extreme of the re-arranged 'Manhattan').

SO DL METHOD THOUGH VERY GOOD, IS STILL UNFAIR TO TEAM BATTING SECOND

So you now know how difficult it must have been for India in Kanpur Batting second and still manage to win by D/L method.

Best method seems to be a replay. The itihery should be such as to accommodate disruptions. Secondly, curtailment should be only by mutual consent and before the start of the game and not midway through.

rambo only. if i am not mistaken, the match u r referring is of 92 wc played in ausis. but at that time, there was no d/l method evolved at all. that time, overs were arranged in the descending order of the max runs scored in it and then the over with least runs scored (or maiden over) used to be reduced n the runs scored in that over were reduced from the target (0 runs in case of maiden overs).

the farce of scoring 21 runs in one ball made ppl think over the changes, n then d/l method came into existence.

its by far the most logical method to try.
