referal system be made compulsory. India would never have lost Sydney Test. & australia would probably have won Perth test. But all those who(BCCI, Kumble, Bhajan ) only talk about injustice at sydney should never forget perth favourable decisions .

Umpires may be was ashamed of their conduct at Sydney that they tried to make amends in Perth. But still India would have won that match.

Anyway, India did not claim grassed catches twice in an innings

What the hell is this D/L?
How can this be greater than the playing team.If a team scores some 170 odd runs in its alloted 22 overs, then how come the target revised to 198?If that is the case, then why shd u have players? They can set a target and ask the opp team to bat!!Absolutely non sense..This D/L is spoiling the game of cricket..Poor English Team..They showed a lot of character on and off the field..Hats off to them!!Duck Duck D/L

It seems you do not believe in fairplay.

India did not know about 22 overs a side match at the beginning of the innings, england did.

India did not lost wickets almost till 18th over of the 22 overe, so had they been told earlier, they would have scored more than 12-13 per over easily

India missed the third power play

India did not ask KVP to put them in first

D/L is there to provide a level playing field for the contesting side in a truncated match and india used it better then England. This method is approved by ICC where the "poor" English and Aussies are still calling shots

Your sympathy is entirely misplaced and shows your zeal in India bashing.

Many times we had been the victim of DL method, if a few times we are winning in DL try to accept friend!!. Now i come to your question. When IND started batting they dont know they have to bat only for 22 overs, so they played to keep wickets for the total 50 overs. After 17 overs if you reduce the match to 22 overs, what one can score at teh remaining 5 overs?? so calculating every thing we had a decent win... Just to fresh your memory! The same poor english team had the advantage of sending south africa to bat for a target of 22runs in 1 ball (same D/L method) in 1992 world cup semi finals...

Not a win to be proud of
by Bol on Nov 24, 2008 06:37 PM  | Hide replies

Look at all the unfair advantages India got during yesterday's match against England:

1) England won the toss and elected to field considering it as 50 over game
2) India got 14 overs as Powerplay where as England got only 8
3) D/L method takes in to consideration all the high scoring overs. India got advantage when after coming back they were just 1 wicket down and they knew that the match is reduced to 22 overs.
4) India scored @ avg of 7.54 whereas England came out to bat with a target of 198 in 22 overs (avg of 9.00)

Though I like India to win each and every match they play, I think it should be a fair play. I hope someone takes up this stupid D/L method and does something about it before India ends up on the receiving side.

But until D/L is null and void, do not belittle this victory. When you guys stomach tie-breakers in world cup football finals and in tennis, why not D/L in cricket. Everybody knew it is going to rain. England won the toss, they could have elected to bat and did what India did. Because, KVP was out-foxed at Kanpur by Dhoni and Co he let indians bat first. My guess is Had india been told in adv of a 22 over mathch they would have scored mroe than 178 or odd of what England scored.

dont be so arrogant !!!! why do you expect some one to score immediately 50 or 100 after a short gap.... and ultimately it happens for everyone... everyone said yusuf pathan was a waste but then he proved good on the subsequent matches.... anyway, i am not telling you because he has scored more than 16000 runs, but he had been in very good form in the recent test series as well...

Most of us are not aganist Sachin. But what we expect from him is more responsibility. He himself should suggest Dhoni that Gauti & Viru are in good opening form, so I better bat at No. 1. And India is in desparate search for No 1 slot.

Zaheer should have been the MoM
by HBK on Nov 24, 2008 10:29 AM  | Hide replies

With all respect to Sehwag's innings,I feel yesterday's MoM award should have gone to Zaheer for excellent spell of 5-20-2.Also his spell in powerplays brought us back in the match which was slipping from us when shah and flintoff were scoring around 12 rpo.I don't know how many of u will agree.

i agree with your opinion. however, unless for sehwag blitzcreig innings, there would have been simply nothing for zaheer to bowl at. And hence, may be, sehwag was chosen MOM. If there were only 30-35 runs contribution from all our top order batsmen, then it would have been Zaheer the MOM. but as thy say.... no ifs and buts in cricket.lol

I agree, for me ZAK is the MOM. ZAK 2 for 20 is equivalent to 90* (60 balls). Cricket is already biased towards batsman, atleast the officials should encourage the bowlers.

i think the selectors should rest Dhoni, zaheer, bhaji and to extent sehwag too. this way they will get burnt out. This is a great opportunity to give players like robin utappa, badrinath, rohit sharma.chetan pujara, shikar dhawan,rp ,ojha, ashwin,to get exposure in one dayers at international level

sachi the greatest odi batsman in history of odis
but shd he open
i mean, why to break opening combo of gautam and veeru simply bcoz they r going great guns

a player shd not be bigger than team

and sachin shd realise it,he is being selfish by opening with veeru and stopping gautam to open who is in the form of his life

all sachin fans including me shd understand that sachin cannot play for 100 yrs
he is human being

There is no outspoken either from coach or captain, so the results certain quite contratry to earlier coach. Also,Dhoni bringing a new thought altogether compared to earlier captain. Its like new technology. The team is enthusiastic, driving, challenging&delivering one's own effort. It appears each one is working on their basics and delivering their efforts.Only a black mark amoung the young team to be removed for a complete charge of the team is waiting for sachin to announce his retirement.

hi Abhi

every one know dat he is not gona play for 100 yrs .. rt

but we need to utilise him 100%.

u cannot rate any player on 3 to 4 match performance.

sachin has 22 100 runs partnership with ganguly

9 100 runs partnership with viru

4 100 runs partnership with sidhu .

total 100 runs partnership as a opener ..this is the world record .. second best is gily n hedan with 14 .

now pls don't say that he is playing for record n all

pls don't do SAME MISTAKE wht guru greag had done in 2003 world cup
