It's an immensely excellent and pleasant feeling to see our team demolish the English attack with aplomb and now, it seems that they as your comrades have got accustomed to and formed the habit of winning every time they arrive on the field, haven't they? And perhaps, Indians wouldn't gulp down even a grain of food unless you kiss the 4th victory in Dravid's home town, Bengaluru.
Yes, you've to 'make it happen' and seal the series very early by 4-0 and eventually 7-0. It was great to see the English team bend before Indian attack and yielded with 240 for all out. Bhajji spinned them to pocket 3wickets for the team and entered into the 200 ODI wicket club taming Owais Shah; Ishant and Zak also displayed quick wicket-taking. And special congrats to Bhajji for being conferred upon the Man of the Match title.
It was also Viru's day today, who showed up in a 'Nawabi' style with 68 to his account and though, Yuvi(38) couldn't mark a ton hat-trick, the team's triumph hat-trick was the top-priority, which indeed happened and embellished the Green Park to look more green for the spectators.
Then the D/L method also stood by our side, when lights dimmed at the venue and we won by 16 runs, racing ahead with 3-0. England will ponder, not 16 but 16,000 times before coming out on the Bengaluru field.

just when I thought the world was running out of gentleman... you are an ass-et to our country Anshu... Keep it up!
selectors picked the squad for only the next two matches because they wanted option of picking lesser-known faces for the final two games in case India won the series before the sixth odi.
Re: need to preserve ishant for test matches.
by Maximus Decimus Meridius on Nov 21, 2008 12:29 PM
He is only 20 yrs old. There's no need to 'preserve' him for tests. On what basis do you claim his bowling is not suited for ODIs? One game? He did well in the ODI series vs Aus, didn't he? Ishant has pace, control and bounce. Maybe he is getting nervous, because he rarely bowls no balls in tests. Persist, and let him learn the hard way. India has destroyed too many bowling careers through this chopping and changing attitude for bowlers (batsmen get a long leash). Even IK Pathan is better than Praveen Kumar. Plus Irfan can bat. No, Ishant just needs to learn how to bowl in ODIs. His pace and bounce will be very useful on pitches outside India like in SA or Aus, Eng or NZ. The likes of praveen kumar are cannon fodder on aussie pitches.
The best bowlers manage to bowl well in both forms - McGrath, Ambrose, Akram, Warne, Murali, Kumble, Brett Lee... Ishant should as well...

I agree with you, sachin has already played for 417 ODI, why he shud not think of retiring and giving chance to the youngsters like vijay ?

Sachin will come when India wins series. No for INDIA his Innings but as an individual records he may play to score centuries to add to his ODI Centuries.

This was announced before the series started, that Tendlya would be rested for the first 3 matches. At that time, it was unknown who would be in front, right? india could've been behind 0-3, and then you would say, sachin has come to save the day...

It is possible to win by 7-0 margin over England. However, there are few changes needed in middle order to clean sweep the series. Rohit should go out to replace Sachin. Choosing Virat is better and reliable option than keeping Y. Pathan.

No way that Yusuf Pathan could go. He has a very sensible head over his shoulders just like MSD and they both play according to situations and calculations. Never get carried away both of them. But yes, Virat could get a lookin, in place of either Suresh Raina or Rohit Sharma BUT that too only after winning the series OR in line with the horses for courses policy. Both Rohit & Raina, specially Raina are excellent fielders. Remember, every run saved is equivalant to a run saved! And every run-out accomplished is a wicket taken! None of the teams, no matter how fast they are between the wickets dare to take cheeky runs when Yuvi, Rohit, Raina, Virat, Gambhir, Vijay & MSD are around!

7-0 is possible if india continues to play like they are playing with professional attitude.
