Remember ODIs are different to tests. Ishant is a good test bowler but exceptionally bad ODI bowler. Similarly Agarkar was a good ODI player but not as much good in Tests (even though he was the only frontline bowler to score a century at the Lords). I have offered some stats that shows future looks grim for Indian ODIs (mind you I am saying ODIs)
Past Kapil Dev ODIs 225 | Wickets 253 | Average 27.45 | Econ 3.71 | Batting Average 23.79 HS 175* Cent 1 fifties 14
Kumble ODIs 271| Wickets 337 | Average 30.89 | Econ 4.30 | Batting Average 10.53 HS 26
Agarkar - India wasted his talents - Stats speak for themselves would have been an ideal pinch hitter of all times. ODIs 191 | Wickets 288 | Average 27.85 | Economy 5.07 | Batting Average 14.58 50s - HS 95 - fifties 3
Future looks grim except Harby and Zaheer no real class: Zaheer ODIs 152 | Wickets 214 | Average 28.79 | Econ 4.83 | Batting Average 13.31 - HS 34
Harby ODIs 178 | Wickets 200 | Average 32.85 | Econ 4.18 | Batting Average 13.01 - HS 46
RP Singh ODIs 47 | Wickets 60 | Average 32.25 | Econ 5.36 | Batting Average 7.50 - HS 12
Ishant ODIs 18 | Wickets 24 | Average 31.45 Econ 5.23 | Batting average 6.50 - HS 8
Munaf Patel ODIs 36 | Wickets 44 | Average 29.93 | Econ 4.60 | Batting Average 7.42 HS 15
Sreesanth ODIs 41 | Wickets 59 | Average 31.45 | Econ 5.78 | Batting Aver

How many ODIs have RP, Ishant, Munaf, Shreesanth played? To judge them based on their limited games is not right. If you go by your pattern of judging, then many of the so called top bowlers in other teams should retire.
They are all young, give them time AND sufficient chances to mature and grow. Selectors should make a note of this point.
