What do you mean by "peculiar nature of cricket in India"? You condescending whites decided among yourselves that fast and seaming wickets should be considered standard while wickets that spin should be considered peculiar? We Indians can feel the same about English conditions too. Despite having played soo much circket that fact that you think of something different as peculiar shows why English cricket is soo poor and boring. To me English cricket is like a teenager with an underdeveloped mind. Unable to comprehend the realities and requirtements of modern cricket. The only place you guys are good is on your village greens!!!!
Come on Mike, give the lad a break. Agreed he should have had a spinner in the playing eleven, but when a captain has pacers like Flintoff, Harmison, Broad & company along with Collingwood to take care of the 50 overs between them naturally Swann did not figure in his original scheme of things.
After watching a part-timer like Yuvi wreck havoc he realised his folly and included him in the third.
I would however, love to see Swann in a test match before commenting on his caliber. Monty Panesar was a must on this tour and I pity the selectors for not getting him out to India.
KP, you have to do far more yourself lad, before you can expect the same from your team. Look at MSD and try to absorb some of his qualities.
