well done gambhir as he admits it. gambhir has admitted that he hit watson with his elbow n more importantly he doesnt lament it. well done. this shameless ausis need to shown that if they do the mischief, they vl b hit not with an elbow, but next time, they vl b hit with a bat on their head.
It was no surprise.they had it coming.even before the series started Ponting said they will play new age cricket.but new age or old age cricket is played with bat and ball.but the aussies play more with mouth than with bat and ball.they tried very cheap trick including talking about sydney test but in the real test they were soundly thrashed.they cant complain about pitches anymore.A selfish captain is no good for team.Nielson arguments sound hallow and unconvincing.victory is what is sought and ponting to escape ban put self before country.it is very obvious.Nielson should accept and not try to put forth unconvincing arguments ti protect a rather arrogant captain.Fitting result to a team waiting for it.
Australia used sledging as a tactic to win all these years. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Though Chris Broad didn't show his broadmindedness in handing out a one test ban for Gautam Gambhir as is the wont of all White Coloured Cricket Administrators which Gavaskar vehemently protested, Australians would now know that Sledging is a spent tactic in their armoury and they would always get back in mouthfull if they try to attempt that. Denniss Lillee and Jeff Thompson with their whirlwind speeds couldn't get WORLD CUP during their tenures.

without the services of warne and mcgrath, they are pretty much lost. also, coinciding with the 2 greats - other countries slid spectacularly - most notably, windies, england, pakistan, and india - so warne and mcgrath were never really challenged, when they were - they got beaten in india by ganguly and his men in 2001

Gambhir deserves the ban... This is the second time in around a year he has gone barging into opposition that sledge him. The guy is clearly off his rocker and needs a psychiatrist. He'll be the next Navjot Sidhu otherwise, killing someone who scratched his car. If Watson sledged you, sledge back, that's cool. But if you do something so obvious as to hit someone, the referee has no choice but to ban you.
The problem is that there is this whole breed of Indian cricketers led by Ganguly, and include Harbhajan, Zaheer, Yuvraj, Gambhir, Srisanth who confuse aggression with bad behaviour. Dhoni had said once of Srisanth that he will learn one day that getting fined and banned does no good to his team. The problem is that these people want to sledge, but they make it so obvious that it looks like a street fight. The referee can only ban you if he can see it. So, if zaheer had subtly said something to Hayden instead of that exhibition, he would've been ok. And, we the public think those clowns are dedicated cricketers. Not only should Gambhir have been suspended, but the BCCI should've taken matters into its own hands. Look at the ACB, suspending Symmonds because he missed a team meeting to go fishing... BCCI gives these jokers far too much rope (esp that moron Srisanth... his exhibtions are embarassing to watch)
Compare this to the behaviour of Tendulkar, Dhoni, Dravid, Brett Lee, Lara and so forth...
BTW, Dennis Lillee had been banned for kicking Javed Miandad once.

y do u forget watson, for his mischiefs, when he instigated gambhir, but still was left with meagre punishment. if u decide impartially then the frustration vl lead to street fight like situation. its not the fault of gambhir but of the biased icc who is only taking side of cheater whites like ausiss.

Watson is almost a debutant. You start with a meagre punishment (unless you shoulder barge people) and the punishment becomes more severe as your violations increase. That's how the levels in the offences work.
It's got nothing to do with the Aussies cheating... all the provocation was verbal and it could have been dealt with verbally. This hothead went and decided to beat up Watson, and paid the price. He deserves it, I say. If you can't control yourself, you shouldn't be playing. The next time the opposition wants gambhir banned, just sledge him...he'll throw his bat at someone and get banned this time for more games...
Zaheer didn't get banned for the Hayden sendoff, and that was a bigger exhibition than watson's sledge. Ganguly has been fined so many times, as has srisanth for needless sledging or talk on the field. Have you considered that? All you see is a conspiracy theory... as if these people had no part to play.

That's right. Exactly why their autobiographies are titles "True Colours". That's what they are ... show their True Colours and cheat to win.

rightly said, the same ausis were not talking anything in sydney when they cheated all
who says that the oz team would have won had they pressed with their premier bowlers instead of part timers? the way dhoni and bhajji handled the part timers was important. besides even a score of 300 would have been sufficient.
they forget hat it was dhoni who allowed hayden to get on with his strokes and eventually let him take the risk to perish - which was what happened.
all these ifs and buts mean one thing - that australia is a spent force, or on the wane
