Krejza's ''achievement''
by Raghavan on Nov 10, 2008 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

He has bowle so many overs in a spinning track. He is bound to take wickets. But, the fact that he is an ordinary spinner is shown by the number of runs given. This despite the fact that Aussies were a great fielding team.
India knew how to tackle him - that's the matter.

india scored 739 runs in the nagpore test match of which krejza's contribution was 358 - australia conceded 31 extras which means that the india scored 708 runs off the aussie bowlers out of which kreja's contribution was 358 which is 50.56%! no wonder that krejza's contribution to india's victory is very significant - perhaps that is why he won the man of the match award:)

Krejza, U r Gr8

im very thankful to Krejza as its due to him, 300 odd runs were conceded which helped India to make a big target for aussies. If he was economical with wickets, he would have been genius but here he just provided cushion for the Indians.

krejza' efforts is good, but not great. its his personal milestone
by raj on Nov 10, 2008 02:30 PM

as far as krejza's effort goes, it was a persnal milestone, as a team effort his bowling helped india win.

indian team effort to whip krejza stands vindicated. no one will remember krejza ... its the team victory that counts. and more still, its his expensive bowling that provided the cushion of the margin. that 180 odd runs that they lost by were the excess runs conceded by krejza.

Kreza's Bowling

Even if Kreza got 12 wickets doesn't mean that he is superb... every average debutant spin bowler will get a decent record against india for first two three games.. after that indians will find out solution for play against him..

its funny....title reads 'most expenssive ten-wicket haul'

In the context, except two all others have below 10 wickets ....

Nagpur test.
by Lilamber Joshi on Nov 10, 2008 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

1st session on fifth morning will decide the fate of Aussies. They have 30% chances to draw the match and 69% to lose the match and just 1% to win.Overall they got good thrashing.Time for Ponting to think of retirement as he was neither a great captain nor he is.He had been thriving on top performances to win matches by McGrath,Shane Warne and others. He lacks shrewd tactics for field placings, bowling changings and had no clue in this series as what to do.Its time for him and hayden to retire gracefully than to thrashed by SA in next series.

absolutely. the ozs will be tested now with the greats missing. no gilchrist to save them from batting blushes, and most importantly no warne and mcgrath - the bowling legends.

good for krejza - his 12 wicket haul dint go unpunished by the indians!
by raj on Nov 09, 2008 11:05 PM  | Hide replies

we will have the last laugh if we either draw the match or win it. after all, whats the use of all those wickets if it dint help the team to win ?

krejza can be happy ony if the oz team wins. or else the joke will be on him, despite making a brilliant debut.

he took more than 50% of the total wickets taken.

constant practice will put him in better place.

yeah, i dont disagree with that. but what the indians have done is play positive cricket. remember, the oz team has the world champion billing. just like how we struggle aborad, the oz team will be labelled as being poor tourists if they dont manage to dominate us!

also, the aussie team lost the plot, cntaining runs was equally important - they conceded a vital lead of 86 runs, which could have been easily avoided with diligent bowling - but that was not to be, because his variety limited, and the way he got his wickets were by tempting the batsmen. thats why i'd still say - that his bowling will get the real due - only if the oz team wins tommorrow. or else it will be a perfect debut at the cost of the team.

i wouldnt go to say that luck was on india's side. every single delivery that way can get a batsman out. look how comfortably they swept him with disdain. it might be his first outing - and usually spinners do get the benefit of that more than pacers. look at hirwani he took 16/136 in his first outing, a gobsmacked west indies dint know what hit them!
