Well congrats to the Master for his consistency ! There were people who were writing nonsense when Dravid was in vintage form. Let me ask them now - should Dravid be sacked that he has underperformed in Australia, SriLanka and India ? I don't see anyone complaining. But if Sachin failed 4 to 6 matches in a row, people ask for his retirement. Who fought tooth and nail in Australia - Sachin ! Ofcourse bowlers bowled well but lets not forget that Sachin has always played like he played all throught he 20 years. Just that now we have bowlers who can take 20 wickets in Australia and win matches. Well if someone could match Sachin's consistency and is willing to play at Number 4 he will surely step down.
Sachin is above comparison. He can only better himself as he goes on. I still feel he is not alert enough at the crease though. With age he is showing signs of fatigue faster. But he is still the best batsman in the world; so he does not need non-constructive criticism.
BCCI is right in feeling that Indian players are being targeted by 'gora' umpires. However, they must realize that this imbalance in international cricket cannot be addressed overnight. There are no short cuts when it comes to changing peoples' mindsets. BCCI has done a good job in identifying the problem. Now they need to have a long term strategy to solve this problem. Just because you want someone to stop behaving a certain way does not mean that they will stop - especially overnight. In trying to run fast, BCCI risks tripping itself on this issue. Thus Sutherlands's advise needs to be taken in the right spirit - use power judiciously; otherwise you will end up hurting your own self.

The crumbling effects of wall street in the US has its effects on India's wall too.
This time no investors or takers for Rahul Dravid. The cracks were visible long time ago, and now this disastrous performane should give him time to think that it's time to make ways for the new generation of players waiting in the benches.
Rahul it's all about a decision man.. Retire soon or you'll not find a place in commentator's box, cause Saurav and Anil are rushing there too..
Hats off and thanks for scoring a century. You missed out on two occassiosn in this series when you were batting exceptionally well.
I am your ardent and loyal fan.. I pray that you score atleast 10 more centuries this year.
I have prayed to god and promised that if you score three more centuries by the end of England tour, I will vist Siddhi Vinayak in Prabhadevi and thank him, as I know you are a loyal devotee of Lord Ganeshaa..
Those who thinks Lara is better than Tendulkar go and check also Brian Lara's 4th innings record. His avg is 35 and only 2 centuries in 4th innings. Same applies for Tendulkar, although a few point difference in avg, Tendulkar also have only 2 4th innings centuries. No one can say who is great and who is better. So it is hard to tell who is a better batsmen. One thing is for sure, both of them are the greatest batsmen of modern generation.

in one to one comparison, sachin has an edge, the conditions in which sachin has grown are different from that of WI. Sachin is really great

Lara had only 8 test 100s in wins and 16 in ODIs....Sachin has 13 and 32 already..so a fool like u cna only say Lara had more match winning knocks....And then u say Lara has them at home and abroad..haha..Lara was superb at home mostly and average abroad...
Lara holds the record for playing on the losing side most - he beat Alec stewart's record long back.

Lara has an edge in temperament and concentration. Scoring two triple centuries and a 400 is not easy against any opposition is not easy. I will take back my words if Sachin scores at least one triple century.

what is da result of that test matches ??? in which lara score a tripel ???
both ended in drawn n west indies lost da series ??
if sachin score triple n match goes in drawn den all gr8 xperts like saba karim nikhil chopras will point a finger on sachin for playing for record ..
n one more thing in last test we all r wattling for laxman to get his 200 but in Pakistan dravid declare inning when sachin is on 194 ... one thing to notice India own that match agents Pakistan in 5th day morning... almost 82 overs remaining for da day.

If u compare them, lara is the better test batsman over sachin, but the reason why he could not convert his scores into wins is the period in whci lara was in the team where no others are good enough to support him. But in indian with tendulakr there are many greats played laong with him and team is more stronger than WI. But if you compare in ODIs sachin is a far better player than lara which is entirly different from tests.

It would be fair to say that that both S.R.Tendulkar and B.C.Lara were champion batsman
Brian Charles Lara record of playing marathon knocks of 375 and 400* against England and 501* in a first class game are indicative of the hunger which he had for playing long innings.
B.C.Lara had class, temperament and finesse about the way he played.
S.R.Tendulkar is the best ODI and Test player to have ever played the game in the modern era. His records are unbreakable and a great achievement.
