Rohit is another Ajay Sharma
by mg on Nov 06, 2008 08:10 PM

This guy Rohit sharma is a real flop in international arena.
There was another fellow Ajay Sharma who used to score heavily in the domestic matches and flop big time against international teams.
Same case with Rohit here.

Youngsters
by salam singh on Nov 06, 2008 04:41 PM

Youngsters will surely get chance. Tendulkar will play for two more years. Ganguly has retired. Dravid, if he performs badly in next series, its all over for him. If youngsters who are given chance in One day matches scores centuries, they will get Test selection. Till now, no younster recently scored century in one dayers.

Rahul Dravid played very well in New Zealand tour. When everybody struggled, he was among runs.

I wonder why Rahul Dravid's performance is better when playing abroad. His record suggest that. He plays better when playing outside India.

Don't forget Sachin and Dravid were also young some day and they performed later on. You have to give chance to the youngsters. That's the way the game goes on. And by the way Rohit Sharma is a very promising cricketer and he would surely make it to the test team sooner or later.

I am sure he would get better with time. Even the great Tendulkar made so many adjustments. Rohit would definitely make it to the test team.

its not abt, just getting a place in test 11..its abt will he be able to survive there?some say,he can fill in dravid's shoes, but again, the question is,is that easy? dravid easily fits into best indian test team ever!how can one forget his momorable knocks in south africa, newzealand, australia?

Yes. But it's the same with everyone coming into the team. Even Sachin's entry into the test team was met with speculations. I think Rohit has it in him to get into Dravid's shoes. We had a glimpse of it in the Board President's match against Australia. He played a great innings on that occasion.

Cricket lovers especially Indians would be delighted to know that we have a fitting successor to Rahul Dravid in the form of Rohit Sharma. His superb technique, calm demeanour, wonderful temperament, delightful strokeplay coupled with fielding skills make him a player who will stand out from the rest by a big margin. All the very best to him.

Well said. All of the qualities which you mentioned require praise. And he looks like such a mature batsman at the age of 21. Pressure just does not get to him. I can still remember his and Gambhir's knock against Pakistan in the 20-20 finals. We have a great combination in these 2 batsmen.

Even though his century against a a weak attack of Rajasthan need not be highlighted much, his talent as young cricketar can not be underestimated. He is one of the brightest young prospects for India and may lead Team India one day!

sorry, I am fan of cricket. As far as i concerned Rohit Sharma is given enough opportunity compared to any other players of the team. E.g. after 2 games, Yousuf Pathan out since is all rounder what about Rohit Sharma. I think he hardly scored in Sri Lanka tour and Austraila tour but he is still given opportunity but in case of Y. Pathan he was dropped in Sri Lanka tour.
