DHONI gave his shoulder to KUMBLE to ensure what ?
by PRABIR SARKAR on Nov 03, 2008 08:51 AM  | Hide replies

Hi everyone,
What did DHONI ensured by giving a shoulder to KUMBLE to send him out of Cricket Groud?
In Hindu mythology a shoulder is given only to the last walk [ may be to the cremation ghat ].
Dhoni ensured that KUMBLE does not take more time - which would otherwise delay his turn of Captaincy.
Now DHONI has his road clear - No other senior has the GUTS to handle him other than KUMBLE and SOURAV. Enjoy your turn DHONI.

Indian's let slip the match
by Crick fan on Nov 03, 2008 08:15 AM  | Hide replies

It is rare that when any team gets 600 plus in first inning and let the opponents escape follow on. When chasing such a mamoth score you crumble under pressure. However with Indian team the problem is that they begin to enjoy the comfort of high score and let the things drift. They loose intensity and purpose in bowling and feilding, thinking that the opposition will get out by themselves. Under such situation the coach and captain has to set vision and pull the team to finish the match.

Cricket rule says, once you have scored more than 600, you have to win the match. If pitch is dead then you have right to dig the hole in the pitch so ball can turn and you can take the wickets.

It is great loss to indian cricket and also to fans around the world.Mr kumble being a great cricketer and also a great human being .He has added many beautiful and splendid moments to the cricketing era . His decision of reitrement has shocked many fans around.Being from karnataka he should help and build cricket clubs and train young cricketers .

Hats off to a brilliant career that Kumble dedicated to nation. In fact he always came out successfully by shear application of his brain. Even after his retirement I hope he will use his engineering brain for the up liftment of game .May God bless him with peace and love for rest of his life.

kumble's committment was always 150%, whatever the situation, while batting, bowling or fielding. only manoj prabhakar had that kind of sincerity from india, but he did not have even 10% of kumble's talent.

Cricket Murdered by Indian Team
by dost pk on Nov 02, 2008 10:22 PM  | Hide replies

Indian team never played for a result and as usual, target a draw, and succeeded. It is better to lose a tensed up match than a drab draw. What was the great idea of declaring at tea time on the 5th day, setting a target of making 244 runs!! What was the great idea of not declaring the first inning to allow VVSL to score a double ton!! What is important ? The match and the cricket or the individual's stats!! There were several opportunities, for the Indian captain to inject life in the game, which he ignored and subjected the cricket loving Indians to the torture of a terrbly boribg match. The match will be remembered for Kumble's last and worst performance as a captain. We treat the game like this and the cricket lovers like this and then blame the Test Cricket.

hi you are wrong. the declaration indeed should have been delayed. The pitch was still good for batting when the declaration was made in the first innings. Indians should have grinded the Aussies and should have scored around 750 from where only two things possible only indian victory or a draw. there would not be no chance for australia. Australia had hopes because of our declaration and a good pitch for batting. Why are you always blaming Kumble its only due to the pitch. what was done by the great Dhoni and Mishra in this match. They both played well in the match where Dhoni was the captain. is it like Dhoni wants to do well as a batsman only when he is the captain?

I completely agree to the point that Dhoni plays well only in those matches he captains. Look at his test record when did he give good performance when Kumble was the captain
