Dont think Warne can return to test Cricket...
by Aditya on May 20, 2008 10:38 PM

I dont think Shane Warne can play test cricket.... he has practically played little cricket over the past 15 months... Shane Warne was a great bowler and his time is over... Its one thing to keep your focus for a T20 game which lasts 3-4 hrs and its another to keep your focus on during a test series... Also even if its the great Warne I dont think you can just turn up for test cricket and do well..

what a pity!!

Retired Aussie bowlers are better than Indian present young-blood bowlers. In India, we create so much hype that even the very mediocre cricketers become super heroes over night. Look at our new domestic bowlers, they are not promising at all. Having said that, I dont see much differences between these domestic and present international bowlers for India.
I think, Shane should go back to cricket because he has lot of cricket left in him. There is a death of spinners and Shane can help it revive. He is very energetic, enigmatic and great character and the best spinner ever to born in the history of cricket.
Some of the Indians here say that he should retire and not go back. Why not? When Sachin wants to play until he can use his bat as walking stick, when Ganguly wants to play, in both one-day and test, until he cant hold his own BALLS and dravid ants to play until Ganguly%u2019s BALLS hang loose.. hahaha

Plz dont compare Sachin with Warne... Sachin was a legend... but Warne is still a legend even after quitting Intl Cricket. See how he is playing in T-20 also. On reverse Sachin is just limping in this version of the game even being so younger than Warne. Sachin is currently a media hype and a moronic idol.... India doesnt have class cricketers like Australia...
This is a bitter truth!! So plz everyone accept that.

Yea, funny that the same Sachin is currently on the #2 spot in ICC ODI ratings, and is currently rated as one of the best batsman (on current form). Also funny that somehow all the ex and current players, including almost all cricket experts end up rating Tendulkar and Lara as the 2 best batsman of this era. I wonder why they do so ....

You cann't compare sachin & Warne. Both are different class players. Dear friend, you forgot why sachin is still best..Look at the last australian tour. He was the reason why australians lost ODI series against India..So Sachin is still the best..That is the truth.

Its really unwise of Warne to speak like this!

He has retired as a legend of the game! And he should stick to that... It should not bother him if Stuart Mcgill is injured or not.... For that matter Indian tour to Australia was their biggest challenge and Aussies dint have any quality spinners...he dint want to return at that time (May-be because Sachin was at his peak!)

IPL is different...anyone cud play in this shit!

Warne Comeback
by rakesh on May 20, 2008 04:36 PM  | Hide replies

cricket Australia will not entertain idea of come back of shane warne because as per their sport culture which is based on the system and not on personality of any individual unlike Pakistan where Imran or Miandad could come back any time after retirement in the interest of team? check career of Border,Boon,Mcdermott,Merv Hugh,Bevan,Waugh twins,Mcgrath,Healy all were forced to retire as per instructions of Cricket Austalia so no hopes for Shane Warne.

Australia will find it impossible to win the Ashes in England without Warne. The present bowling outfit is weak and could not win through fair cricketing means against India in Australia itself. In a neutral environment, this Aussie team will crumble against the likes of Peterson and Flintoff.
