why does anyone care?
by lifewasted on May 21, 2008 01:06 AM

Why do these type of news make headlines? Are we that obsessed with cricket? If Srinath decides to make a comeback do you think Aussie media will care to report the story?

T20 is a joke and IPL turned it in even a bigger joke. We were tired of seeing people like SRK in movies, commercials and now cricket too? God bless the world

Top 8 reasons why the IPL'Trophy' is like it is:
by sg on May 20, 2008 09:31 PM  | Hide replies

#8 - Modi wanted to do an Al Gore and requested the trophy be environment friendly/ bio-degradable.
#7 - Modi's cousin is a scrap dealer.
#6 - Mona Mehta wanted the limelight be taken off from the cheerleaders.
#5 - IPL wanted the trophy to be theft-deterrent.
#4 - IPL wants to mentally disintegrate the potential winning team.
#3 - Pawar was getting the flak from his fellow politicians for making IPL T20 way too glamorous.
#2 - Raj Thackeray did not want any non-mumbaiite artisans to work on this trophy.
#1 - IPL wants to discourage all franchises from becoming a winner so that it can keep the prize money.

Please feel free to add more. :)

Try some thing new.........!!!!
by mohd bari on May 20, 2008 12:19 PM

Australians...you try some new spinner...till when you will rely on SHANE WARNE. i know he is the legend...but australians should start preparing for a new spinner for the next Ashes....
...Now start preparing for a new spinner...to fill in the spot left by shane warne.

Why?

If international cricket is so tempting, why did he retire at all? He will be making a joke of himself if he returns.

well, I also agree with your views....but we can see from one more angle and that is his passion for playing for his country and everybody knows that today Australia lacks a quality spinner....

Great

It would be great to see Shane Warne back in action in Test Matches. England would be very worried. Way to go Shane....

Unfortunately he isn't like Sonia Gandhi...

Freely available..

Actually it's good he isn't like her. At least he won't come here, accept citizenship and help Australia win against us..

nitin, do we have to be behind Sonia? For real? She is behind India. Rajiv Khan's wife. What a tragedy? Trying to loot the spoils in the name of Gandhi!

Bunty, it isn't an easy ask to replace Shane Warne. So, don't worry about CA and its inability to find a replacement for Shane Warne.

A spinner like Warne is born once in a century..
It is not that great spinners are roaming in flocks in the streets of Australia..Even in underhand tennis cricket I have not seen anyone spinning like Warne.

So there is no shame..

I think India should give him citizenship..If he plays for India in the underprepared dustbowls, we will be world #1 team in 1 year and he will reach 1000 test wickets in 25 more matches.

Hello Santosh Datta...

Nothing to undermine Warne's acheivemnets

Bowling in the Dustbowls is also an art... Shane warne was offered many dustbowls like this in India...he could do nothing because his spin was read much better than anybody else by Indian Batsmen... Especially Sidhu, Laxman and Tendulkar!!!!

He could have never reached 1000!...neither could Murali!
