If the youngsters really good, why do you want Sachin, Saurav & Dravid for test cricket?? If they are not good enough for 1day then why 5days. Actually some people have double standards. They know very well only these icons can teach the youngsters the trick of test cricket and then they will ask them to retire from tests also.

No Place for Seniors
by Cyril dmello on May 17, 2008 03:13 PM  | Hide replies

Laxman,Saurav and Dravid shud concentrate on test cricket. They shud be ashamed to see much older crickerters like Jaysuriya and Pollock shine in 20-20. Sachin is OK but he got out in a duck. He got four catches but he is also on his way out. Justin Henin retired from Tennis at age 25 I really don't know why our cricket players are still in the team.

Justin Henin retired at 35 years when she retired. But the way the seniors are playing I think they should deserve a chance as they are performing well. 20-20 is a not a game of speed but a game of timing and power play. Hence seniors are well equipped them to play. Look at McGrath, Pollock, Jayasurya................

You have a point. But how long we can depend on the veterans? We should also give a chance to youngsters so that they also get a chance to play for the country. It is every player's dream to play for the nation and nobody is Indispensable.

Sachin want to play 2011 world cup with all senior players like Dravid, Saurav, Laxman. And we know that result would be India lost to Namibia. So sachin world cup 2011 mein khelne ke sapne chodo and youngster to chance do.

Sachin after the match said that the seniors can also play well in T20 format. He even give example of jayasuriya and pollock that they are 35 plus and then also playing well. But sachin, they are foreign players; what about our seneior players such as (Dravid, Laxman, Saurav, Sachin) they are not performing and can't perform in T20. So please retire soon.
