Mr Simple Plot Do U have a lawyer friend, ask him for a unbiased opinion without any sikh emotions please. One more time for your info - Bhajji assaulted a person - whatever reasons may be- he assaulted a person & this is a great offence. And Bhajji is on two contracts, IPL & BCCI- each have a clauses on behaviour & DOs & DONTs. Bhajji got what he deserves but less. If Sreesanth did not get any- he has still to assault any- If he does he will get what Bhajji got & more

This was a simple case of 'assault' provoked by the victim, who apparently is no saint, but then the question is in India people get away with murder, and some don't even get charged in the court of law because of their affiliation with some politico or being their kin.

This is crap when you say Bhaji is a sikh, Sidhu is a sikh....I bet you are a sikh as well. This is classical Indian argument when ever a minority is found guilty for a the offence/crime he/she had commited. You are full of s**t.

BS! Nothing to do with their being Sikihs. Maybe some sympathy as Punjabis but all Indians practice regionalism unfortunately to some degree.

What do U mean to some degree? India is about Regional feelings. I still wonder how could even India survided as a country with this lot of regional finatics. I bet by next couple of years India will loose interest in international matches and people will be deeply involved in supporting their city/region

Bhajji affair
by Geet Ronoldho on May 15, 2008 07:58 PM  | Hide replies

In Indian context there is so much emotion to ones religion, region, language, south Vs North - Northie Vs Southie, Marathi Vs Northie etc ; almost all including educated & enlightned Indians miss the objectiveness. And I see it is so hard for Indians to unite or cast aside our regional or other differences. This Bhajji affair has really brought this sad fact to forfront. Hundreds of blogs & postings are so motionl, parochical, narrow & hitting againt each other. India is doomed. Friends: The big picture is Bhajji assaulted another player & it is a big offence. Pls get this first.

I visited China so many times- God has been so kind & gracious to China , A chinese north or south, shanganise or Bejing, they are one & see how they take on the world. See the way they will deliver Olympics soon and sweep most gold medals & see the way India will mess up Commonwealth games which is a mickey mouse show compared to Beijings olympics. God has really forsaken India... Come guys let us kill each other Indians whil Jihadis will bomb more jaipurs.

Your observation is right, but don't relate that to God's blessings. Its the failure of the people - especially the educated ones - they have just obtained degrees - but never understood the lessons.
As for the punishment, I think he should have got a ban for 10 ODIs - its good they gave a warning to Sreeshant too. But what about the coach was clapping while the incident was happening?

Well China has close to 57 'races' , from russians, uzbekks, turks , mongols and what more. What unified china is enforcing a single script - Mandarin , which ensured that though different dialects exists all can be expressed using the same script. China was unified by the Qin dynasty and later by the Red Flags. Well in India we have a different concept which is calle d "Unity in Diversity" , we opted for a plural culture and there is nothing wrong in it, only that people should learn to respect plurality and not become bigots, which we consistently fail to observe because of our bigotry. So the blame is on us

I don't know what are you talking...northern chinese language is different from central and this is again different from the southern China. What is happening to races other than HAN in China is there for everyone to see...don't get mesmerised by what you see, you are taken around only where the infrastructre is superb but then also you can feel the difference in chinese people's attitude towards each other....it is surprising to read your thoughts even though as per your write up you have travelled a lot in China. Also, we Indians are happy in criticizing our own self which is nothing new

abey geet tu tourist ban key gaya na china main..a few visits wont help in creating the actual picture of the country...while i accpet that china has made vast economic progress, you have been led to believe that everything is hunky dory with the chinese people...do u really really think the chinese people are united...This is simply becasue u never get to know about the riots, abt the human rights violation, abt forced labour..if u think the chinese people speak the same language then u obviously havent heard about catonese, hokkien, teochew...mandarin is not sanskrit...

gods may have forsaken india, but we indians havent forsaken india...maybe psuedo indians like u have..

do u know how many chinese were killed during the cultural revolution in 1960-70s...children killed parents, students tortured teachers...china's devlopment till today is based on those killings...

its the communist propoaganda that makes u belive that china is united...no way..the uggirs in the north have a disctint culture, lanuage and culture..yes..they may have been forced to study mandarin...the tibetans are differnt..actually tibetan script is derived from pali...

so get ur facts straight!

I strongly agree Geet. Indians need some thing to fight. Lately people got sick of regular hindu-muslim fights and now they are concentrating on regional fights. These people will never grow up. I hope this will not split up the whole country in small peaces. I dont mind for that too if the peaple can live peacefully and live with pride

Such a pity to see you guys fighting over Region and Religion. You guys simply forgot the fact that "anything wrong has to be punished" which happened with Harbhajan. That is what our gurus also preach us right
