At least Raj Thackeray had Marathi Indians' interest at heart unlike SRK who sweet talks emotionally, 'chak de india', 'promoting cricket' and what not and uses an Australian to throw out fellow Indians !!!! Were Ranadeb Bose, Cheteshwar Pujara, Sourasish Lahiri, Yashpal Singh burning your pocket so much SRK ????

You r F*cking jealous and desperate man. WHy r u so concerned about it? He is smart, so he is able to make money. YOu r just dumb, thats y you can only have words on who r smarts. Lalsalaaam.
Can someone tell me if these investors like SRK, Pretty Zinta, Ambani and Vijay Mallya etc. are making money ? Is the IPL successful ?? Are they paying from their own pocket or they recovered it from public because crores and crores are involved.
instead of spending on cheer girls Mr sharuk Khan would have kept the players with them.I request IPL bigwigs to add a rule to the owner of the team to inclders in all the players in a any match. They can be rotated from one match to other.by doing this they can support the upcoming players. This is like a bowler who bowls only 4 over in a match. Since all teams have to follow this rules there is no much difference.

Chakde, will u talk the same, if you have your brother from out of five(because u know the caliber of your brother first, and then the cricket fans knows him,if he given a chance to play & performs better). Why should'nt be they given a chance to play, as they may come out better than the palyers who are playing the side

Compensation must bring in value. This is commercial endeavour to the core and people are in it to make money. Lay-offs and restructuring are part of any commercial for-profit business and IPL has never said anything different. Also, the coach and decision makers have a benefit of watching all players in the nets etc. These guys can play Ranji and Deodhar trophy where they will fit in their teams' plans. I am sure they were paid for the duration of their employment which is all that is due from KKR or any other organization.
As for upcoming players, each team has had its share of discoveries. For KKR, Trivedi, Saha (wk) and others have been discovered; even discarded hands of Chopra are getting another shot. So, that aspect is also well satisfied.
I really don't see anything wrong here; you start with a big net and then as you get closer to the end only the fittest survive. These guys should count the enormous experience and opportunity that IPL gave them of sharing the dressing room and field with experienced legends. It will do them good in the long run.

Agreed it is a commercial venture and the franchisees are there to make money, but in that case, don't call it as (Indian)PL. This has nothing to do with promoting local / Indian talent.
SRK is a huge fraud trying to talk emotionally. Love of cricket, chak de india etc. F.... off.... Don't play with people's emotions to make money....
At least we did not see the kind of stories of KKR, BRC in the case of ICL.
The only low key story was when Yousuf Yohana decided unilaterally to exit from ICL and get into cash rich IPL, that ICL decided to drag him to a court.
RE:ICL is much better in treating its players...
by kavuri mohan on May 14, 2008 12:11 PM
Yes u right ICl was better than IPL and new budding crickters got more chance in the ICL. In IPL all the good performance came from the Aussies like Adam Gilchrist, Shaun Marsh, James Hopes,Brett Lee, Mc Grath, Shane warne, Hayden, Hussey brithers and Katich and list goes on and on. What are the Indian players doing nothing. Except Yousuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma & Gautham Gambhir had shown some consistency in batting.
At the time of auction, even till the inauguration of IPL all the franchise owners said, they are here for cricket, and to encourage local talent!! Now where is your encouragement. I agree franchises look for business, but this is not the way to treat on upcoming cricketers, now who will put their faith on you? Very soon IPL bubble will burst, since here we dont have enough money to maintain such a mega events. And people in india are not ready to through their amount simply for IPL circus. BCCI should amend the rules, which will be benifited to the upcoming cricketers. Stop gambling on people and their self respect. Vijay mallya not even a month old exp in cricket culture started insulting cricketers and their self respect. BCCI cant take any actions on this? Are these cricketers are slaves to your dictatorship?

NO BODY IS SITIING HERE FOR CHARITY IT IS VERY CLEAR FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY.......
if suppose u hv yor own company and yor employee doen not perform well as per managment expectation then what will u do??????
its not the matter of slaves, its matter of knowing yur strength and weakness and to be honest w.r.t yourself as well your associate.
if Dravid and Kumble dont find their place in one day cricket then how can they see their future in T20?????
need to learn all this from foriegn players atleast they have that courage to take decision whtehr they are still capable of palying that kind of cricket or not???
Ganguly did a clever thing by hiring Shoaib Akhtar in his team......Akhtar is Ganguly's nemesis and he is always uncomfortable against him.....so he made sure that the Rawalpindi Bowler is on his side.....

Rawalpinidi express will soon be derailed and soon players will hit akhtar balls to sixes. Let us how far will Ganguly team goes... :)

In the business world there is nothing called ethical or unethical.....if someone is of no value then it is better to throw him out.....Malaya should have done this long before and thrown out non-performers in the team and changed the team captain......Malaya showed that he is not an astute businessman as Ratan Tata is......Malaya just thrives on inherited money and hype.....he is now crying on TV about how Dravid and Sharma refused to listen to him.....he showed that he being the owner of the team had not control over the team selection.....
RE:Malaya should learn from KKR
by Sagar on May 14, 2008 12:20 PM
Malya, it is not that much easy to handle a cricket team, like you play with the cheer girls.
One thing u do , allot a cheer girl for each player, then your team will do well, like Preity supporting with team players individually every night rotationally, hence her team doing well. Malya learn from Preity, being you a man, allot cheer girls to every player insteading using them personally.
RE:Malaya should learn from KKR
by kavuri mohan on May 14, 2008 12:06 PM
Malaya should learn from Rajasthan Royals & Kings XI punjab team. what can Venkatesh Prasad teach Rahul Dravid & Co about the batting. Whereas Shane Warne is looking for young players and Tom moddy is guiding the Kings Xi very beautifully...
