Mr Mallya has already made it ckear that IPL is corporate cricket. Obviously it means that the primary aim is PROFIT either in cash or kind or both.Entertainment thus becomes the main goal to keep the venture alive and kicking.Once that is accepted then we may call it WCE- World Cicket Entertainment ala WWE.It will obviously have all the agents, brokers, fixers, melodrama and manipulators fair or foul to maximise profit with entertainment. Professionalism, ethics, promotion of sport, development of cricket in India et al are just image projection gimmicks for gullible public consumption and gaining respectability. The Nexus of powerful politicians,Business leaders and film industry controlling the whole venture clearly points to the shape of things to come. This powerful nexus will lay down its own paradigms, guidelines, rules and procedures to suit their own self interests rather then that of cricket per se.It will be a new form of entertainment cum publicity venture with very high and powerful stake holders operating it. Classical cricket as pure sport for the puritan will die its natural death and blown away by this new hurricane of instant cricket.

Its people like u that will make a stupis show like IPL hit,u go to the stadium to see cheerleaders and then click them on Mobile and then c them in the loo.
Why do rediff think of so many negative things? Lets think this way; IPL has been started this year. May be next year the rules of player procurement might be changed; or there are tons of possibilities to make a balance between National cricket team & IPL. I personally dont understand why the whites have so many objections on the popularity IPL; & why they feel BCCI is doing everything wrong using their financial clout? If Ricky Ponting can point & tell steve buckner to give an indian player out, why i will not think there are deals between the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) & Buckner? If there is something wrong in IPL, let the other teams of the world come forward & put it in a forum & discuss to get something juicy out of it; rather than making negative things out of it.

So my frnds dont read any articles in rediff otherwise you will be confused and dont take ur own decision. Be careful in future avoid rediff and its articles
Hey buddies, the old order changeth, yielding way to the new....if the national sides do not see the writing on the wall and spruce up, the will soon fall by the wayside! Finally players are getting market-based prices like in other games like soccer. The logical consequence will see these multiple leagues finally amalgamate into an international league of professionally run clubs, with players from all around the world being payed what the are really worth! You will have more professional talent scouts scouring the countrysides to recruit hidden talent, and picking them before someone else does!
Mr. Pawar and company are not safe guiders of children in cricket but saferpocketers of bcci 's huge money ! Akhir kitana chahiye paisa ek admiko ? Kuch to sharam karo yaroo! chooron? dsprabhu/goa
Mallya's outburst against none other than Dravid shows the sign of things to come. Could anyone think of that before IPL? Even filmstarts had dizzy eyes for our cricketers but now they can own them. I won't be surprised if Zinta asks Yuvi to be present in her promo of films. Heroines and players are on equal terms but Maalkin and players are not.
This is unless this circus has a short shelf life.
