Tough path ahead for Kolkata
by thahalka on May 12, 2008 02:15 PM  | Hide replies

Kolkata gethered all 8 points from defeating Bangalore and Hyderabad twice. Kolkata not yet registered win against good teams. Again they will have to face Delhi Daredevils twice. Hence, chance of semifinal for Kolkata is less.

Is it?

Great. I thought this was a cricket competition. Thanks for reminding us that this is Table Tennis, where individuals are playing against each other.

All the best to you and your dreams.

Born with gifted abilities, that why he is rated as the best by all the ex and current players, and WISDEN too rates him as the 2ns best in Tests and the best in ODI's. That's called having gifted abilities. Regarding IPL, you can watch him destroy the bowlers from 14th onwards.

I think priyadarshan has a point here. "Integrity" ka to sawal usne uthaya hi nahin. I personally feel that he has been forced to play in this league and would have stayed away from it if it was upto him. He has often talked about his desire to play in the next world cup, he isnt getting any younger and playing in the IPL worsen his chances of surviving in international cricket till the next world cup. Another major injury and he will be forced to retire. I think he should focus on one day and tests and forget about 20-20 to prolong his career.

Sachin cannot be compared to any other batsman in the world. With his excellent record batting first on flat pitches, and consistently poor record undere duress, he is in a league of his own.
He cannot be compared with match-winners or match svers like Lara and Steve Waugh.

I m not "anti-Sachin". It is my view and it is arguable. But, i would prefer to watch Lara than Sachin at their best.Just being indian doesnt mean, you have to support Sachin blindly. How many of you wud have hailed Sachin as best, if he was from Aus, Nz or Paki.

I would have. He is a class in itself. The way he hits 4's is awesome. One of Sachin's quality is as long as he is on the crease, no score looks impossible. (Same goes with Yuvraj and Sehwag). By the way I also enjoy batting of Ricky Pointing, Clark, Sarwan.

I can understand that you are just trying to rationalize your previous post!!!

SACHIN RETIRE
by bharat conductors on May 12, 2008 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

Sachin only plays for records and money. He cannot play under pressure.Once when he was on 176 in a test match and dravid declared , he made a ststement in the press that he was surprised at dravid's decision.Dravid declared at that time because it would give the bowlers a chance to get early wickeets before the end of play.Sachin is a selfish cricketer

and as regards that TEST match declaration ...... SACHIN was on 196 that time ... and sirf ek do ball ki baat thhi .. he would have got to 200 .... wats wrong in declaring 3-4 balls later...after having worked so hard for 6 hours of batting wats wrong in having a milestone behind ur name ...... how can u call him SELFISH ...let him play man ... u mind ur own stuff

Dravid gave him more than half an hor to get 20 odd runs for completing his 200. The way he was going, he would have consumed another 1/2 hr before reaching 200. Dravid did no wrong when he declared with Sachin at 196.

This is the the India. The only Indian player praised by international bowlers, captains and media as the best batsmen in todays cricket won many matches for India including last England test series and Ausies One day triserise and Oneday series against South africa very recently. Still he is getting such blog . from people who do not write with their proper identity.
But Sachin talks with bat always and slaps these type of negative critics.

I think Sachin has every right to be surprised. He was batting at 194*, so its obvious. Instead of declaring Dravid should have asked Sachin to accelerate and get his 200. Also, Ganguly influenced that declaration as well. He was injured and was seen talking to Dravid about declaration. Dont quote some stupid examples.

What happened in the CB Series in Australia.Sachin played a major role in the 2 finals and won the cup for us. We should not blindly tell him bad.Any Comments???

Ponting has low scoring rate than Sachin but he cud won 3 cups because he has support of Gilly, Bevan, Hyden & symonds Hussey allof them havinf rate of around 90. In case of Sachin his s/r is 85 bur other batsmen Ganguly, dravid & Laxman have poor s/r of 72-73. After advent of Sehwag ,Yuvraj , Dhoni & Uthapa Sachin started getting require support and he cud win recent triseries in Australia & one day series against South africa both on foreign soil.
Recentely he has got better support from bowlres & fielders also.
