1) He still plays the defensive shots reserved mostly for Test cricket. The man needs to charge down the track and hit the ball without being so defensive. 5runs off 11 ball where the run rate is nearly 9 per over is not going to work. The 6 balls that he wasted just nudging the ball around would have mattered for fetching the winning runs. 2) Wrong decisions: Dravid coming at number 4 in yesterdays match and keeping White down the order after him was a big mistake. He must realize the potential of his team mates 3) Wrong decisions again: Keeping Virat Kohli for warming the bench and sending Praveen kumar after White fell, was a big, big mistake. 4) Motivation: He lacks motivation necessary for uplifting the spirits of the team and himself.

there you go...Even if Ganguly was in charge of RCB with everyone else remaining the same they wont win under the following siituation.
In the world of business, the cricket folk are being told, we work hard, we kick a**, we win or we %u2018act%u2019 and %u2018heads roll%u2019. Well, they know of these things in cricket too%u2014they are called training, competing, winning/losing and getting dropped. But who can argue with the men who sign the pay cheques? With every Challengers%u2019 defeat, the agitation of the upper orders grew until two of Mallya%u2019s men reportedly began to muscle their way into team meetings. They allegedly cornered the team data analyst and spent a Sunday crunching a different set of numbers before making a triumphant presentation before somewhat flummoxed cricketers. When defeat to the King%u2019s XI followed after that epochal meeting, the players were accused of not trying or working hard (as UB executives probably do). An amusing though unconfirmed story of a plate being flung in anger has also emerged.
Hi folks, am an admirer of Indian Cricket and its no doubt whether they brought the worldcup or not, Rahul, Sachin and Sourav are one of the best. But the discussion here is about T20 and especially IPL. In this scenario, i support all of them who are bashing the seniors. But, if they say, Rahul has to suicide, he is a useless player etc, i dont agree. Since, he along with Sachin and Sourav has held the dignity of Indian cricket both in Tests and Onedays for many years. It may be time up for them, but it doesnt mean 20/20 is any measuring scale for greats like them. So dont hit hard on people, look at them as how you would look at your son, if he was in that position. These are all performers, talking is easy.

by Pehchan Koun on May 09, 2008 04:52 PM Guys these senior players are not succeeding in T20 becoz they are playing 1st time in t20,even other players have played few matches somehow somewhere, that could be the resion to not so good, lets give them some more time to adopt the format of the game and u will see the change for sure, its to early to decide for anybody caliber, becoz they like... Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, Kumble even Sachin are fresh for t20 format sooner or later they will show the class, even they are improving day by day lets wait & watch.

You neither understood Gavaskar nor Dravid..but you think u understand cricket..Good luck with growing mature ...
why cant he use his bat which he is holding,he just pads the ball and gets out LBW.His stumps go such a long distance after getting uprooted. In T-20 format he is in a mindset of stealing a single.PATHETIC!!
RE:Dravid
by man on May 09, 2008 05:08 PM
It is his bad luck. As he has got his style of batting and some strong conceptions since long, he is trying to improvised with this 20-20 over format and also played 2 good innings where u can see his strike rate. Every one can not be the same.

Rahul Dravid has contributed more than even Sachin Tendulkar, he has always tried to deliver the best for the nation and his team, he has played selflessly for the nation.
As far as,his success as captain, I think, he is too soft and gentle to handle his team mates. The day he will start taking them into the task and bit harsh on their performances, he will be the best captain and team will start performing.

one simple fact - A batsman with a test av of 99.94 said - sachin reminded him of himself. just curious, did anyone say that abt DRAW-id?

It may be his choice. But it is seen that media is puuting their words into any visiting cricketer about sachin, at at present he is most over-hyped cricketer of the recent times in comparison to his performances. anyway I 'm not against to Sachin. My point is that Rahuld never got such hype in Indian media as per his performances and achievements as Sachin got, may be coz he is not Mumbaikar and is not favourite of cricket lobby, he is a simple guy who does not have any backing.

Mr.Man you against Media ..? or against Sachin ?? Whats your point.? why are you dragging Sachin in bet..?? You shouldnt compare Rahul with anyone when you are commenting on him..Comparing is a false game...and mere stats dont really show everything ...Every player contributes...Rahul is failing to deliver right now as a captain, as a player....He needs mroe time..thats all...But yeah even current T20 Indian captain is also not doing very great...But rest of the players in the team matters a lot ..its a team work remember..?

Over-Hyped? yes, true, 81 centuries is overhyped, 28,000 runs is overhyped, playing one day after his father passe da way is overhyped - this guy has never performed. True, Mr man, you are true, we are all fools
7 runs in 3 overs !! Man - any bowler would be too happy to get that number even in Test (forget about ODI or T20)... and also 20 useful runs, when wickets are raining around. What a great T20 player he is... and our ODI captain Dhoni Singh is keeping him out of the squad... what a ball!!

when people say dravid is not fit for T-20 format i laugh it out as i can see dravid is not fit for any forms of cricket as his performance is saying since about one year now.
Ganguli has always won battles against Dravid.Yesterday the world saw it again. It is attitude that rules the world.Dravid a goat and Ganguli the tiger-Tiger will eat goats.Always.
