get US $1M to train in U.S. India is at the infancy stage of developing professional sports leagues but already people are upset that foreigners are taking the money out. Grow up you narrow minded nationalistic people.

What about Not Playing (well) Captains like Dravid, Ganguly. How much have they earned per run scored?

It's funny, less you score, more you earn per run!! so SG and RD have a high rate! And Tendlya's rate is infinity even if he is pais a rupee!

ha ha ha what a comparison...?
"Foreigners" come to India to earn millions like this... and the Indians go overseas to "make a living" by working on anything and everything coming their way...!!
and its really interesting to see that u really enjoy the foreigners coming here and earning Money.... think abt this on a broader perspective.. the money that the foreigners are earning is actually the money the senseless Indian spectators are paying..... think abt it.. crores and crores of Indian money!

And hey.. When Indianns go outside and earn Millions we are happy and when its other way around.. Why be sad? why be angry? Is that the right attitude?

Do not disregard as to how much money the Indians are making out of this. Hundreds of Ranji level players are now millionaires. Also the jobs it is creating within India. Do not look at it from a very narrow minded nationalistic view. This is free market economics at work. Very rare for a socialist country like India.

you may be getting this feeling because we are in the middle of development and most of indians are not earning well... But, this is the time we make of the opportunity... Indiann viewers? you are missing the big Picture... India is going to be a hub for Cricket.. Like football for europe... Today we have indian sponsors.. tomorrow we will have global .. Today we have Indian viewers ... With this model cricket won be restricted to only a few countries.. We can have teams Like Singapore.. Bangkok.... Thats the larger Picture... Look at the whole economics.. Look at the employment opportunities that will come up ... And these players deserve the money for the entertainment they provide... Thay don get it free.. thay have earned it... They made it big through efforts... They took the Risk of taking Sports as career when they knew that if they wont make it.. they will be nothing.... How many ppl do that?
India is a poor country (3rd World) but paying foreign players (from 1st world) more than what they earn in their country. Please tell me how is it possible??

Daniel, India is a developing young country. 3rd world and all that crapy shit, keep it to your self. What i forsee are the days when when you guys will be immigrating to INDIA in search of better job and living standards. About your query, the Board of Cricket control of India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world of cricket with earning amounting to over 70% of the total ICC (International cricket council) earnings. Hope you got a fitting reply. By the way, where you hail from. We respect blogs from all races and nationals. jai hind

Daniel D(whatever the F**k your name is)-
dude, you should have gone to school and take some macro economics before calling India a poor country. Time Megazine perdicts India is going to be one of the top three economies in the World by year 2045. IMF estimates India's purchasing power parity is going to be one of the top five for 08. You want more? and what is this 1st World and 3rd World bull crap. You are full of horsesh*t

Gagan,
Before you use so many foul words, did you get what Daniel is trying to say? We as a nation have so many people dying of hunger - 1 every 5 minutes dies of hunger in India. How can one set of people still die like this?
Our agriculture minister should change his portfolio from agriculture minsitry to Sports Ministry. He should start similar city based (or state based) league tournaments for Hockey, Football, Chess and even atheletics. He is good at getting sponsors, media attention and more importantly money spinned. So people from other sports would also benefit and those sports will get the much needed promotion.

We already have a league for Hockey....PHL....but that ain't going anywhere...
What is important is what the viewers want to see and it is definitely not hockey..
See Smart lee got N number of Hugs from Preeti Xinta & after that he went ample of money. This is called luck. Our Shree/Bhajji/Ganguli are busy in conntraversies.....
it is really surprising how our media is supporting ganguly for all his wrong doing yesterday. This is exactly what our media did to support bhajji in australia and sreesanth in general and see what has happened. These kind of players only bring disgrace for country. At least this was not expected from Ganguly there is no doubt he is great.

Let admit it guys, in the game of sports players sledge no matter which country they belong to; India being no exception. Though, I don't see big problems for anyone. Besides it gives local and foreign media something to write about.
And lets not forget that Cricket is just another competitive sport and there's nothing 'gentleman' about it.
