The great sportsperson he being, Rahul Dravid is the best role model cricketer for youngsters for all times to come. He is responsible for Sehwag being there today and also Dhoni becomming team Captain so early. All credits to Dravid as he is the only Indian to get Two ICC awards in the same year and also the only one to be invited to play against Aussies at MCG in 2006.

Dravis A Match Winner
by Sanjeev Verma on Mar 31, 2008 05:47 AM

Dravid has a better average than even Tendulkar in Test Cricket and he has won more matches for India. We should not forget that he was the highest scorer ( 90 ) in Perth test that India won during recent Australia Tour.

My feeling is that now Dravid will be unstoppable since it appears that he was under lot of psychological pressure since he left captaincy. Now after this century and 10,000 runs, we should expect better things from him.

Dravid 10K man
by Gandhi on Mar 30, 2008 02:45 PM

May be amongst all those who played for India, he is the most humble cricketer, a silent performer. Congrats to Rahul he deserve all the appriciation. The way he plays he looks to hold good support for the other attacking batsman that we have in Team like Sachin, Laxman, Saurav and now Sehwag N Dhoni.

why individual records are given more value than team winning record!!!!!
by S Narain on Mar 30, 2008 11:29 AM

I feel ,we Indians should be praising those players who make Indias winning record better first in the world cricket and next in the process if their individual record is also made, should also be appreciated..This is real & truthful appreciation rather appreciating it other way round i.e individual record taking priority over team record, which is sign of narrow regional apprecaition & detrimental to a healthy development of societal attitude in Inida.. a multicultural country !!!!

Answer to ear;ier query by one of the boarder.

Dravid family has got maharashtra roots. They are maharashtra Deshastha brahmins settled in Tamilnadu 400 years back. They went there with king Vyankoji Raje Bhosle step brother of King Shivaji who ruled Tanjore & Fort Gingee in Tamilnadu.

so by Domicile he is Tamilian and then Karnataka but origins in Maharashtra. But does that matter now ?firstly he is an Indian.
