good bowler...
by Kumaraswamy Pillay on Mar 26, 2008 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

We will find out how good a bowler steyn is in this series. Ofcourse he has got good success against batsmen from bangladesh, wi and pak. But those batsmen are not worldclass and dont have the kind of temperament like, sehwag, gambhir, sachin, dravid, laxman, gangu, dhoni or even kumble. Bowling fast only is not going to get wickets. His body will be tired after bowling 4-5 overs at his pace in a spell. He has to do something more to take wickets

so, according to you only indian batsmen have world class qualities. sounds funny. wait and watch.

but, before that there is a small stats. Dale Steyn is not alone a fast bowler, but also a technical bowler pitching in right areas. He has taken 100 wickets in JUST 20 matches and has grabbed 3 man of the series awards consecutively. How many times do you think that the batsmen listed by you have taken at least twice the man of series award in recent history?

stern who?
by on Mar 25, 2008 08:41 PM  | Hide replies

indian batsmen can handle stern and co easily. In australia our experianced batsmen played well against top bowlers like Lee & others on their own pitches.Remember what happened to their fastest bowler "Shauntait" they hyped him to blew away our batsmen with his pace and put huge pressure on him and he turned out to be dampsqib not taking single wicket in perth test. South Africa doing same mistake by hyping young fast bowler stern.

India were quite exposed to lee who did very well against us. Shaun Tait's case is a personal issue. Bad news for India is that there are 3 good bowlers in SA line up and our batting line up is old and creaky.
