Compromising on quality in the name of quota is bound to be detrimental. I am sure this SA team will be humiliated by Indian team. The only players who may stand in the way may be Ntiny and Graem Smith who have earned their places without quota/reservation.
Test cricket in India for last few years has been a disgrace because of one thing: the pitches have been appalling. This is shown in the high number of draws witnessed during this period in this country. Pitches have been flat, slow and low, 'paata' tracks where the batsman can either batter the bowlers or stay in and not get out. Often they get slower and lower as the game progresses meaning the bowlers have no bounce to trouble the batsman and get wickets and the batsmen can stay in but have no pace in the pitch to play shots. It makes for dull, boring, tedious cricket.
India has a good strong all-round team now and it's high time they were given good cricketing wickets like MOHALI everywhere in India: helps the fast bowlers in the 1st day, flattens out on the 2nd & 3rd days and dries and helps spinners on day 4 and 5.
Why is there absolutely no media coverage about this very important cricketing issue when there are pages and pages dedicated to Dhoni's absolutely non-controversial comments???? It shows media and BCCI don't really care about cricket, only money and showmanship and melodrama.

Everything in cricket is actually pitch-centric. Cricket illiterates fail to realize that. All these so called T20 wannabe cricket fans don't know sht about the game. Same goes for the media who are more interested in the crappy sensational news all the time.
i hope this does not serve as a bad example to india on introducing reservations in sports.. india is already notorious for having reservations in every walk of life
