I BET CRICKET AUSTRALIA WILL NOT VOTE FOR IT
by Adnan on Mar 22, 2008 12:13 PM  | Hide replies

SLEDGING IS THE "BREAD AND BUTTER" STRATEGY FOR THE AUSSIES...CRICKET AUSTRALIA WILL NOT VOTE FOR BANNING SLEDGING!

IN ANY CASE CRICKET IS A "GENTLEMEN'S GAME" THAT TESTS "CRICKETING SKILLS" AND "NOTHING ELSE".

how dare u point ur finger at Gilly.
u realise he walked off the pitch without looking at the umpire in the 2003 world cup final. do u understand who ur talking about? this is the most compassionate player in the history of crcicket. the world respects gilly. gilly has never been involved in a scandal, he has always played fairly, and he's a good player.

u must urgently sing hare krishna and be enlightened.
cheers 2 you too mr (not) all right

Ram Prashad
Mohammad Kaif
by Ram Prashad on Mar 22, 2008 08:41 AM  | Hide replies

It has been a rather satisfying season for Mohammad Kaif. First he led an unfancied Uttar Pradesh team to the runners-up spot in the Ranji Trophy, and then went one better with an equally inexperienced Central Zone in the Deodhar on Thursday.

It was a triumph many, including Kaif himself hardly expected to come this easy %u2014 Central claimed the title with a game in hand %u2014 especially with two of his premier bowlers out injured.

The domestic season almost over, Kaif will next be seen in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals. In a freewheeling chat with the Hindustan Times, the right-hander reflects at the season gone by, his goals for the future and much more.

Excerpts %u2014

How does winning the Deodhar Trophy title feel?
It's very satisfying. It's very pleasing when youngsters excel. It was vital that we begin the tournament with a win and carry on the momentum. And we did just that.

How did you handle a side most of which you were unfamiliar with?
It was tough. I didn't know where they batted, how they bowled. However, interacting with them and inputs from the coach (Abhay Sharma) and manager (Gyanendra Pandey) made my job easier.

Do you feel captaincy has hampered your chances of making a comeback to the Indian team?
I'm not sure. I have been leading various sides %u2014 India A, Rest of India, Uttar Pradesh and Central Zone and the Challengers right since I was dropped. Yes, captaincy can be tough, but I take it up as a challenge. My first job is to score runs cap

Hope I do...especially after buying tickets and having applied for leave...and having lost action in the last SA one dayer and the last day of OZ test match which we would have won but for these unseasonal but cricket specific spoil sport rains...otherwise rains are much needed in water starved Chennai

Hey mr All Right (All Wrong would have been a better name!)

I guess you are much dirtier scum on earth than anyone else here! Sledging is sledging, whether it is done in Hindi or English! In fact, the Indian languages are known for their repulsiveness when used as abuse! We know how much grey matter you have in your small head, so SHUT YOUR TRAP AND GET LOST! If BCCI calls for a ban on sledging, it's because they were at the receiving end, nothing mysterious about it! Probably you don't understand the reason because you lack INTELLIGENCE!

Only because of sledging and non cricketing "performances" aussies could
"WIN" matches. No sledging means no oxygen for aussies.
