Bucknor is so bad, I do not know a single match where he has not commited an error.Simon T is really good and some lesser known Indian umpires are actually very good. Most of the blokes in "Elite" panel save Simon T are blatantly biased against certain sides. Bucknor for one has been India's thorn on so many occassions. Even World Cup Final 2003 could have been a different result had he not turned down apparently plumb LBW against Ponting. Criket results are so much dependant on umpires, its disgusting and hugely unfair to years of efforts of criketers when some dumb (and deaf) umpires make a decision that potentially destroys an innocent cricketer's career. While people like Bucknor can easiliy make a wrong decision to nip a career in bud stage, ICC rewards him to become the umpire to officiate in most number of matches and all his mistakes are washed away as human error. My lawyer friend suggests the affected cricketer's should actually sue him showing footage of his consistent bias against India.
Darell is is not fit to umpire even a school game. In fact, he is not fit to live in a civilized society - his looks tell you he has a criminal bent of mind. Its shocking how these a**holes like Hair and Bucknor get repeated chances after collosal blunders. Do these guys actually get paid to umpire or they pay to umpire????
The headlines should have been rephrased as God reinstated instead of Umpire Hair reinstated. This man thinks he is bigger than the game, the players etc. and loves to play God in the cricket field.Being good and Being God are two different things as we have seen from his dubious past and the avoidable episodes involving this man.ICC is playing with fire.
Becoz of non-voilence ideology Buddhism is distryoed in Afgainstan and time for Tibet.
Some suggestions, China has boundary issue to nearly all their neighbour. No one can trust on China.
Fact is violence is the only Solution Tibet problem. For that Tibetean have to take weapons in hand. India must provide weapons to Tibetan. As China supplied to Pak and NE-militant.
India have to supply nuke to Taiwan.
India and US need to support east-Turkistan freedom movement.
India and US need to support democracy movement in China which will leads to civil war.
Once Tibet liberated from China, India and Tibet have to take initiative to merge Tibet in India. Because of same culture and ideology.

Sharing the same last name as umpire Darrell, I am delighted to mention that there is a beautiful word for a bald-headed man - "pilgarlic". Sadly, I am not quite that yet but am on the way.
I like to think that I've grown through my hair. Maybe umpire Darrell has the same problem.
For what it's worth, he's got to be a better umpire than Bucknor, Koetzen, Dar, Bowden and Harper, at the very least.

Hi Bob Hair,
Aleem Dar is miles ahead of the list you've mentioned. It's quite amusing to note that Darrell Hair is considered better than Aleem Dar by some blokes. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that Aleem Dar is right up there with the likes of Simon Taufel.

Ravi I actually think it's a really hard job and am very supportive of umpires. I don't give a toss if the forensic microscope shows that a decision is wrong - that is life, and human beings can only call it like they see it. I do get impatient when I see decisions that show that the umpire has vision or hearing impairment or simply was not concentrating. Even then, we have to understand the human condition and realise that we all make mistakes, even big ones.
Having said that, certain umpires are repeat offenders. And when they make decisions that don't look, sound or smell right repeatedly, you can't help but make judgments. A case in point about human fallibility - I didn't see it, but I seem to recall that Simon Taufel had a "shocker" in a recent series between India and Pakistan, and he attributed some bad decisions to not being able to hear. That is regrettable but understandable.
Bucknor has been a repeat offender for as long as I've been watching him. I have been frequently amused by commentators saying that he is a good umpire but is having a bad game (almost every game, it seemed).
I must be unlucky, because Dar, Koertzen and Bowden are for me in the same category. Just for the record, a very good example (and not an isolated case, from my observation) is S Katich in the last or second last test in England 2005 - LBW (Dar umpiring). Apart from the fact that it pitched outside leg, was too high, was going to miss off and he hit it, a great decisio

This sure should make everyone's 'hair' stand on end. The ICC president's staement is correct. Hair 'was' a good umpire. But is he still a good umpire, good enough for the elite panel? Or is it that the ICC reserves the worst for the elite panel? Probably now the ICC can also think of fining umpires a portion of their match fees for bringing the game into disrepute by their actions
