Ganguly is back, and so is dirty politics
by Govind S on Mar 18, 2008 09:16 PM  | Hide replies

The atmosphere in dressing room was better without Ganguly, That's why India could win.

Now again he is back, he will start his dirty divide and rule politics and will affect the Indian performance badly.

Ganguly scored 235 runs in 8 innings in Australia in Test series, and averaged 28 !!!! This is consistently ???, the consistent scores were 1st Test 43 and 40, India Lost, Second Test 67 & 51 India lost, 3rd Test the bouncy Perth Pitch 9 & 0, India won the test, 4th Test 7 and 18, Drawn test.

A in form Ganguly scores 235 runs @ 28 against Australia, an in form Sachin scores 493 runs @ 70 against Australia. A in form Ganguly scored 211 runs against South Africa in 6 innings @ 41 and out of form sachin scored 199 runs (12 runs less than the great one) at an average 33.66.

Thats the different between in form Ganguly who averages 31 something against Aus, SA, WI, in Zimbabwe, in NZ and even against Pakistan for 10 years prior to the flat pitch series in India Ganguly averaged 27.

In his entire Test Career Ganguly averages less than 25 against the greatest bowlers of his time, McGrath, Warne, Akram, Waqar, Donald, Pollock, Ambrose and Walsh. He doesnt have a single hundred either against them nor he averages like a batsmen.....

its not about being anti-ganguly or anti-someone else, its more about being favoured towards an individual, this is a team game and you all need ot understand every player plays their own role, i believe ganguly did well against aussies and he will repeat that gaainst SA.

Since past 3/4 days i am reading funny comments of how dropping Ganguly made Ponting felt relaxed and due to which Australia Lost and India won the series.

If we go by this formula, Ganguly shud hv been dropped when Australia came to India to play one dayers in 2007, (Gangu scored 127 runs in 4 maches, LOL) and Ponting would hv got relaxed and India would have won that series too....

ha ha, such poor logic people are ganguly fans.

Yaha waha saare, bangal mey tera raaj hai

Sameer,
The point is the one who is writing all those remarks is acting sarcastic and is not a ganguli fan but a usual ganguli hater.......
moreover the lol u are having for 127 runs in 4 matches is just one record....look at his performance in last 1 year and also aussie test series in australia....
then write ur useless poems

You dont follow cricket closely that is why you are saying one year. In the last one year ganguly has played 12 one day matches against Australia, Pakistan and South Africa, even if you exclude the rain affected match against Australia in Bangalore, its 11 matches and here is what Ganguly scored in 2007 in those 11 matches.

Against Pakistan, 4 matches, 4 innings, Total Runs 89, Highest 39 and average of 22.25

Against Australia 5 matches, 4 innings, Total Runs 127, Highest 86 and average of 31.75

Against South Africa in Ireland, 3 matches, 3 innings, Total Runs 73, Highest 42 and average of 24.33

Combine them and you get

11 matches(1 removed due to abandoned, Ganguly was at Non strikers end on Zero), 289 runs with a single 50 and average of 26 !!!! ha ha ha great batsmen, who after his comeback scored only against the weakest West indies who toured india in 2007, a depleted sri lankan bowling attack without Vaas and Muralitharan in 2007 in India, scored cent percent against Bangladesh, bermuda and Ireland, 3 matches and 3 fifties and scored few runs at 35 average against England.

Great batsmen are not able to score against South Africa, Pakistan and Australia cause they have bowlers to test, isnt it?

Even in the test series in Australia Ganguly scored 235 runs in 8 innings at a pathetic average of 29. Again great batsmen score double 100s and 100s against a depleted pakistani bowling attack on flat pitches, then Wasim Jaffer and Irfan Pathan are also great batsmen.

Dravid has got 237 , Laxman has got 366 run, compared to Ganguly - 235 in last 4 appearances. Now you make a decision to take Ganguly.

some people were born with so much brain, what can we say. Anyhow, India is doing quite well thnakyou. So all you EINSTINES can put a sock in it. Your opinions i hope do not get read by anyone who makes any bit of contribution ot team selection. I seriously think its a curse being an indian for these poor cricketers, good thing they get enough money by media and ad agencies and the Cricket board, coz they deserve every cent of it. not for playing cricket but to belong to a country of fools like you all. Just praise them whe nt hey plain and simple, don't analyse them the way you all do. What are you when compared to them? What do you do for your country to start with that is bigger than their contribution? Seriously there are so many who are biased and egoistic on this website and Jokes apart, its one sick place full of sick mentalities like you all.

Sehwag
Jaffer
Gambhir
Gangully
Dravid
Sachin
Laxman
Karthik
Dhoni
Kumble
SreesanthVRV
RP Singh
Chawla
Pankaj Singh

Pankaj Singh and Chawla should be given a fair GO and also Gambhir should open in one test match if Jaffer fails again.

Ami Dude...Dravid is too good a player to be left out. He bats at different position which shows how flexible he is....he has kept wickets & bowled also (took the wicket of Saeed Anwar).

He is a hard worker & thinking cricketer who plays no poltics like Ganguly.

Laxman, he is one player who bats even with the tail end players & gets huge runs. Every series he plays well but will be dropped in next. He is also a very good slip fielder & a team man not like Ganguly.

you don't just look at stats and maek up teams. if you were to look at stats, Rohit sharma and Uthappa wouldn't have been selected for ODIs in AUS. I think they played a big role once they kicked on with the bat. You need a certain degree of wisdom which unfortunately is something you are not blessed with LOL.
