Those who know Bihar (and Jharkhand)would know that urge for acquring education is very deeply seated in the minds of people in this region. Never mind the fact that they have a very low literacy rate on account of economic backwardness. A person can never get social respect on account wealth alone in these parts. Dhonis decision to complete his education is not surprising. As is mentioned above, Dhoni is a product of DAV School. The cultural values that these schools inculcate in their students and the kind of personalities they build are visible in Dhonis conduct, especially his remaining cool in tense situations and acting firm while remaining polite.

I am truly surprised. DAV Schools are there all over India and they have a common pattern. there are so many in Delhi too. As for Jharkhand (& Bihar) just count the number of beurocrats they send to Civil Services and All India Services each year. That is the credential for having strong leaning for education being their credo. It is common knowledge that good schools are good because they emphasise on personality building apart from imparting education.

U may check (if there is some way of checking up) but it is a fact that DAV Schools produce disproportionately high number of IITians.

Good one. Cant stop laughing. Rediff, get over the Dhoni stuff, there is more happening in cricket than what Dhoni is doing. Why not write a good report on the fabulous 2nd test match going on between England and NZ
