If u all r looking for a clue to why Ganguly is best batsman world have ever produced then it is here, Ganguly sustain his spectacular runs both in Test and one day cricket since his debut with highest number of sixes in one day, his eyes speak of a tiger who destroyed Macgrath, Akram, Waqar, Sohaib, Lee and Warne with utmost ease and also he is a combination of composure and technique. Other players gets charged up just with presence of Ganguly, Dhoni didn%u2019t select Ganguly as he was sure that Ganguly become captain of one day after tri-series. Ganguly marked new height in his career when he single-handedly won matches for India from 1998-2001 while others struggled. Ganguly supported Yuvraj Singh and Bhajji in 2002 as selection comitte almost throwed them out, just imagine if Bhajji was not there in Australia for Perth test and tri-series final then India would have lost Perth test and tri-series finals as he bowled some tight and wicket taking overs. In one days against Sri Lanka if Yuvraj didn%u2019t score 76 then India would have been out of triagular series, so indirectly because of Ganguly India won tri-series as both Yuvraj and Bhajji r in team because of Ganguly, Indian Board should award Ganguly for his effforts and give him captaincy for test and one day. Pathan is in team because of Ganguly and Pathan was man of the match in Perth test, so Ganguly is a kingmaker and full credit must be given to Ganguly for India%u2019s win in Australia both in test and oneday.

1 fastest 50 can not make any batsman great.. overall he can not make quick runs in ODI..so forget about 20-20...

I think U hv gone mad, Ganguly was a great player remember was & now he should have retired just after the last to last word cup when India lost badly in the finals with Australia & after that his down fall has started. U try to live in today & not in past. This time win in Australia & 20 20 credit should go to the real heroes of today & they are certainly new Generation alonwith the Great Sachin. Diwakar

understand if Dhoni is jealous of dada, but why u, u have not achieved even half of Dada, when Kepler Wessels can play till age of 44 years then dada deserves to play till 40 years, why r u getting blank, have no answer

Saurav is the best batsman India even produced. Even Dhoni said "Dada is a legend". Yuvraj said "Whatever I am I am just because of Ganguly. Who will forget Ganguly's 43 match winning innings that he won for India single handedly. Ponting once said "I want to be like Ganguly". Lara said I want to learn captaincy from Ganguly. Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar r big fans of Ganguly. Ganguly will bounce back and he will become the captain for one day and test matches. Dhoni very badly missed Ganguly in matches which were lost by India in Australia. In Ganguly's absence India narrowly missed no. 1 ranking in ICC ranking. Dravid once said "I was in one day team because of Ganguly".

Mr. Sunny I beleive you dont watch cricket proporely ,Austrlians have taken both test/ODI as very serious then the steve have taken in last tour (2003)bcoz they had lost 20-20 WC so they were all set for revenge but both kumble & dhoni handled very well .

i do not understand why people r saying dat dravid is not a ODI player even after watching his so many superb innnings in my view he is the best batsman in india. and for your kind information he is d only batsman of current team who was nominated for the best match winner player.

Dont forget to see the match on 18 th onwards if it bores i will pay Rs 100 per match and if it entertains you have to pay me 50 RS per match
Not sure if T20 is ready for Dravid though. Would have been a real embarrasment to him had he not been given icon status and had to be bid. For almost everyone else would have fetched more money than him...
There is lot of talk ..sachin should retire despite him ..suited to all forms of game..him being better than forget other indians but even most in the world...
And no one talks about Dravid retiring from T-20s, ODIs...
With due respect to him...he is still one of the best in the business as far as the tests are concerned..and should be allowed to go out on his own terms.. I just hope he doesn't cause himself an embarrasement in the T-20 and reduce his already dwindling Fan following.

Dear Salil, i feel you are one among many young indians who know very little about cricket but feel as if they are cricket experts.Yes you are right when you say Dravid is one of the best in tests , but my dear their lies the fact that test cricket is the real cricket a batsman's worth has to be seen from his test record and not odi or T20 record.And in that parlance India is yet to find anybody better than rahul dravid as his contribution in India's Test success rate is by FAR the best in the history of indian cricket,check it dear and update your knowledge kid.Sourav ganguly owes his record of being Most succesful Indian TEST captain to RahulDravid ,if not for Rahul Dravid's Batting heroics in pakistan,Australia, England ,Srilanka,Zimbabwe Sourav would never ever got to be the most sucessful captain.And yes for sake of your likes Sourav is India's Most successful Test Captain and not ODI as Azhar is still India's Most successful ODI captain. Wake up mate,or should i say grow up and learn a bit that cricket is not about hitting balls out of ground on batting friendly and batsmen friendly rules and formats like T20 but it is all about Gumption,Determination,Grit,Technique and Temperament and yes the courage to face up to quickies on bouncy tracks and who could do it better than Rahul Dravid.Check the records of all Tests played by India from 2001 onwards till date.Especially the 2001-2006 era.Which i term as Dravidian ERA of Indian Cricket.

well well.... i have never said T-20 or ODIs is the place where you judge real batsman's worth. Did i? Nor did I claim anywhere that since dravid is not a good fit for these formats he is not great. Can you please read what i said again?
And i agree with you Test cricket is a real judge of batsman's worth.

Sir, Rahul Dravid is one of the best Cricketers in the world cricket in both tests and ODIs for the simple reason that he plays according to the match situtions and won us many tests and ODIs and drew a number of tests which otherwise the Team would have lost. He played some of the memorable knocks which were real treats to watch in both forms of the game. He has played only one T20 game so far, hence it is not correct to pre-judge that he is not good at this format. Let us all wait for a few more days. I am very sure that Rahul Dravid would prove all his critics wrong. It is very sad that some of the guys with very little knowledge and understanding of the game make silly comments against this great Cricketer. As a keen follower of the game for the last 30 odd years, I have no hesitation in saying that Rahul Dravid is the best batsman (in both tests & ODIs)that India has ever produced.

Don't worry about the dwindling (or otherwise) numbers of his fans. It will be fine if he lives up to his own expectations which have always been very high as I understand it from the way he has played over the years. The other parts of your post are very amusing for real. Just set aside your bias against Rahul Dravid and take some time out to go through his contributions in ODIs. Do yourself a favour by knowing some facts.
