Challenge without Ganguly
by Sunny on Mar 15, 2008 02:47 PM

If u all r looking for a clue to why Ganguly is best batsman world have ever produced then it is here, Ganguly sustain his spectacular runs both in Test and one day cricket since his debut with highest number of sixes in one day, his eyes speak of a tiger who destroyed Macgrath, Akram, Waqar, Sohaib, Lee and Warne with utmost ease and also he is a combination of composure and technique. Other players gets charged up just with presence of Ganguly, Dhoni didn%u2019t select Ganguly as he was sure that Ganguly become captain of one day after tri-series. Ganguly marked new height in his career when he single-handedly won matches for India from 1998-2001 while others struggled. Ganguly supported Yuvraj Singh and Bhajji in 2002 as selection comitte almost throwed them out, just imagine if Bhajji was not there in Australia for Perth test and tri-series final then India would have lost Perth test and tri-series finals as he bowled some tight and wicket taking overs. In one days against Sri Lanka if Yuvraj didn%u2019t score 76 then India would have been out of triagular series, so indirectly because of Ganguly India won tri-series as both Yuvraj and Bhajji r in team because of Ganguly, Indian Board should award Ganguly for his effforts and give him captaincy for test and one day. Pathan is in team because of Ganguly and Pathan was man of the match in Perth test, so Ganguly is a kingmaker and full credit must be given to Ganguly for India%u2019s win in Australia both in test and oneday.

Why Dada is best
by Sunny on Mar 15, 2008 02:46 PM

Steve Wagh was scared of Ganguly as Dada has been batting with huge freedom in those days and most noticeable feature about his cricket has been his aggressivenes and Royal walk. Even Bradman didn%u2019t faced the dreadful bowlers like Ganguly faced so Dada is best ever cricketer.
Toughest challenge lies ahead for youngesters to take Dada%u2019s place, even 5 young batsman together cannot fill Ganguly%u2019s spot so at last selection committee will have no option other than to again select Dada for one day and then make him captain both for test and one day. Shahrukh also bought Calcutta team only because he knew that Ganguly is only the original match winner and others r playing only for securing their place in team, Shahrukh didn%u2019t took Dhoni and Yuvraj in his team because of Ganguly so Shahrukh sacrificed both Dhoni and Yuvraj as he cannot dream of his team without Ganguly. All Indian players know very well that Ganguly is best batsman in world. Even Ponting was so much of happy for Dada%u2019s exclusion that he openly said that he is surprised for Dada%u2019s omission and then from there Ponting took Indian team very lightly without Ganguly and so India won tri-series so it was Dada only who won tri-series for India in Australia. Ponting thought that Indian team is nothing without Ganguly and so he didn%u2019t took the matches serious and ultimately lost from India.

Importance of Dada
by Sunny on Mar 14, 2008 06:42 PM

Saurav is the best batsman India even produced. Even Dhoni said "Dada is a legend". Yuvraj said "Whatever I am I am just because of Ganguly. Who will forget Ganguly's 43 match winning innings that he won for India single handedly. Ponting once said "I want to be like Ganguly". Lara said I want to learn captaincy from Ganguly. Ishant Sharma and Praveen Kumar r big fans of Ganguly. Ganguly will bounce back and he will become the captain for one day and test matches. Dhoni very badly missed Ganguly in matches which were lost by India in Australia. In Ganguly's absence India narrowly missed no. 1 ranking in ICC ranking. Dravid once said "I was in one day team because of Ganguly".

Learn from Sachin
by sunil vyas on Mar 13, 2008 06:36 PM

In terms of technique and compactness, Tendulkar is the best. Technically he stands out as the best because of his ability to increase the pace at will. Sachin is perhaps only next to the Don. A complete batsman. He's the best in the business. Sachin is an attacker. He has an uncanny ability to come out on top under different circumstances and under different conditions, whether it is Test cricket or one-day internationals. He is a perfectly balanced batsman and knows perfectly well when to attack and when to play defensive cricket. He has developed the ability to treat bowlers all over the world with contempt and can destroy any attack with utmost ease. He's a phenomenon. He has defined cricket in his fabulous, impeccable manner. The crowd always expects him to succeed and it is too much pressure on him.Technically, you can't fault Sachin. Seam or spin, fast or slow ? nothing is a problem. See the stillness of his head, his straight back-lift, the ease with which he played his shots and their wide range. The fact of the matter is that India still need Sachin in a big way. All this talk of the youngsters taking over is very foolish. The reason why Tendulkar is so important for the team is because of his ability to inspire others and make them perform under pressure.Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime and I am privileged he is playing in my time.

Learn from Sachin
by sunil vyas on Mar 13, 2008 12:10 PM

Martin Crowe once said. Sachin has invented some new shots. For example, the straight batted paddle, which goes behind the keeper. He is a very quick learner and adapts his game to the situation. His killer instincts and attitude of taking revenge with particular bowlers adds spice to his batting. A very committed fielder who gives his best while fielding even after a long innings while batting. Sachin is simply the greatest cricketer on earth. The consistency at which he plays, his simplicity proves that he is one of the best.Sachin is honest, committed, sincere and a thorough gentleman.Sachin Tendulkar being a busy batsman in the world has bought about a new dimension to Indian cricket. One has to agree to the fact that he is the best Indian living irrespective of the wealth and fame he possesses. When we talk of Sachin we are talking about the greatest son of mother India.Sachin as a person appears to be cool, calm and always smiling cheerfully.Extraordinary cricketer. Great brain as a cricket player. Tackles the situation very smartly. Great man to have in the team particularly when it comes to the crunch situation.

India won Australia because of Sachin
by sunil vyas on Mar 10, 2008 06:01 PM  | Hide replies

India%u2019s win in Australia was just unthinkable without the support of this legend, just see, Sachin scored highest runs in all 3 three matches that India won in Australia or India would have definitely lost all 3 matches and even India wouldn%u2019t have reached the finals. Anybody who knows cricket deeply will easily understand this fact. Even in first final it was Sachin who made Rohit to make a stand with him, also everybody knows that when Sachin is at one end then he just makes the batting easier for the partner as the whole focus and strategy of opponents is on Sachin and also Sachin keeps on giving tips on different types of bowling. Facing the new ball was main and the only problem of Indian batsman and Sachin just made it look very easy by keeping his wicket intact in initial attacking over and then attacking very sensibly and intelligently. Even in second final it was Sachin was who made Utthappa to make stand for a big partnership of 94 runs, hence proved Sachin is a big team man who gets along with any player. So in all it was Sachin who made the big difference. After Sachin young bowlers r to be given the credit and not the young batsman.

Tendulkar has shone as the one man gladiator for India. SOMEONE once said "an expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until he knows everything about nothing". The same applies to those experts who have conferred upon themselves the right to come hard upon someone who I would term a national asset. Tendulkar outweighs statistics and numbers. That is reflected in his altruistic and dedicated batting which thoroughly impresses the cricket experts. Tendulkar is a match-winner, although in a team of 11 when everyone gives his best it would be an overstatement, but the number of times that Sachin has put India within sniffing distance of a victory is a sign of his class and commitment. Many criticize him for he has not won some one-day finals in the last few years? But how many of these finals would we have reached but for Sachin? Does it not take a match-winner to win the matches which take us to the final?

Sachin is a match winner in his own right. It is not just because of his cricketing brilliance. Its because of his sheer presence, which motivates the players and also sends shock waves into the opposition. I still remember Shane Warne in Channel 9 recollecting his duels with Sachin. Nothing can unsettle this genius. He goes on and says for a player like Sachin "we need to work out many strategies to get him out". This is where Sachin becomes a match-winner. He always keeps the opposition guessing. Kapil Dev, Gavaskar, Vengsarkar, Azhar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly are match-winners, but Sachin is greater than them because whether he scores or not, he keeps the opposition on their toes. The very fear of the rival bowlers makes Sachin a match-winner. Tendulkar holds the record for winning the maximum `Man of the Match' awards in one-day internationals. India has won almost 80 per cent of the one-dayers in which Sachin has scored a century. Sachin is an emperor in world crick
