remove the ban
by Kaushik Dev on Mar 14, 2008 10:03 PM

the ban on ICL players should be lifted soon. It is for the benefit of the players and how can BCCI ban the players. It would be better if someone goes for PIL against BCCI.

hi

This match is not covered by any news channel other than Zee ....Why ? Good young Indian cricket players who r not selected by BCCI for their pliticl reasons did very well in ICL .I think ICL should have teams like India , NZ, Aussi etc instead of MIXED players team ..this will give NATIONALIST feeling to the crowd. They can have best of 5 match with India 11 , now that ICL has entire Pak -A team with them. With out nationalist feeling the is no CHARM !!

Indian players.....
by John Pandian on Mar 08, 2008 04:46 PM

ICL was said that it will give Indian talent a chance... the average rural player could get chance to make it big.... then IPL followed... finally we see... all International players playing... once again ignoring domestic players and ofcourse... money meant to be for ranji and other first class is routed here.... this is really sad

ICL
by haridas rao on Mar 08, 2008 11:37 AM

The main problem with the ICL is not the lack of star power or marketing skills .It is simply that the teams have not naturally grown .They are simply a collection of players placed into varius teams by Kapil Dev ? . They are not franchised teams either which could have had an opportunity to grow into cohesive unita with a fan base .Till this is solved I see little hope for the ICL .

Absolute flop
by Chatur on Mar 08, 2008 10:55 AM

This was bound to happen. ICL was bound to flop in front of IPL not because of poor marketing skills or money but because of star power and recognisition. Subash Chandra has as big money as BCCI.With due repsects to ICL people will not spend money on to watch the likes of Badani,Gavaskar or Kumaran along with some retired international stars who are past their prime.
The ICL idea is good but looking from a business angle which Chandra would look at this is a big flop.IPL is on good wicket compared to ICL.

ICL is failing in marketing.
by Prem Kumar on Mar 08, 2008 09:53 AM

IPL started late.
But me and lot of common men know what team contains what players.

But I don't have any idea about ICL.

Do you know?
