Guys - lets agree with prabhakaran
by Another Indian on Mar 10, 2008 08:27 AM

I must say, prabhakaran has come out with some solid arguments, which only a genius can produce.

After going through the excellent case he makes out against Sachin the selfish cricketer, you all will agree with him.

So let's all unite, as Indians, and shout out loud to throw out the useless player Sachin. Team India needs performers, not selfish record making non-performers like Sachin.

Hail prabhakaran. Hail swami. Hail karan chawla. Hail Nilesh Singh.

Words from Sachin
by selvaraju sellamuthu on Mar 07, 2008 03:31 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar's words are his own expressions.
He tells lessons to Older and Younger Team.
1. Respect senior players and learn experiance (more) from them.---for Junior
2.If you want to come back, you need more Energy with your experiance like youth ---for Senior
* Energy wont win without Experiance for long time.
* Experiance wont win without energy for long time.
In world cricket Australia(Before CB Series) and Sachin have both well.
Sachin having both.So he can beat any bowler with his exp and energy. So he stands for long time As great 'GOD'.
Those who are not understanding his words are great 'MAD'

Hey davinder.
How dare you counter the great prabhakaran's views on the selfish sachin?
First read what Mr. prabhakaran has to say on the subject, and then come out on this forum and give your correct statements. We need selfish sachin out of the indian cricket team for the betterment of team india.

Did you guys read what the great man has to say?
Do you still believe he hogs the lime light?
Do you NOW believe that "Team India" is coming together, and CAN become a world beating side (is not fully there yet)?

Or do you want to continue with your idiotic statements on this Rediff board?

Choice is yours!

we never belief his words unless he prove something consistently..winning one series and that too with bowlers help wont prove that he had done something great to achieve this...show this in your continous performance not by giving media interviews..we are sick to see his words...let him prove his ability in chasing huge totals and big finals..there is no end to cricket with this series, still lot to come..until then let us wait...we understand team india is coming together with youngsters who had already won world cup for india in 2020 but not with this old crap who just play for records...remember he never won a world cup in his so called 18yrs career..so there is no point with him to talk something great to show that he is great..he can just shut up his mouth and leave here..moreover he is not great man as you claim...he donate nothing considerably with his immense wealth to the people of india when they face tsunami and earth quake..he contributed silly amount to kargil when there was lot of peoples below than him contributed equally...so we never accept him as a what called "GREAT" man..he is below than ordinary man...

FAQ%u2019s about Sachin.

Playing for Records : If one plays for about 18 years records are bound to come. Its not playing for records, it is because of playing Records keeps coming

Not a Match-Winner: Out of his 42 centuries 31 times India has won that is around 73 % match winning hundreds. If the rest of his centuries had not won the match for India it is not his fault. If he had been playing for countries like Australia or South Africa who are traditionally outstanding bowling and fielding sides all his 42 centuries would have been match winning ones.

Never Won a World Cup : Agreed he has never won a world cup agreed. But still you have to see his contributions in the world cups of 1999,2003 (top scorer) Where he scored heavily. But, since this is a team game, all have to contribute. For instance, Jayasuriya blazed runs in 1996 preliminary games, but in final Aravinda stoop up for Sri Lanka. Inzamam helped paki%u2019s in 1992 semi finals and in the final it was Wasim Akrams show. Therefore it had to be a collective effort. Not all the time and all the matches only one person performs and wins the world cup. How na%uFFFD.

Sanjay had been critical of sachin, but for a reason...sachin was under performing. when that happens its time someone sat-up and told him so. thats what sanjay did and now look sachin played not one but two matching innings. sometimes criticisum helps.

I dont mind Sanjay's criticism, but what he says is rubbish nowadays. B4 the test series he sat with all India baiters and noded the head saying India will be thrashed 3-0 or 4-0 without coming up with the facts of the last series where they came with an in experienced side and nailed the sledger-intimidator team. Sanjay is a prisoner of the "british raj" mentality.

Sanjay is OK when he criticises but he just goes overboard sometimes, what he does not remember is in his times too soem criticised him this way and he was a Dravid of his era with osme excellent performances to list, but being a Dravid-like player there is criticism of all sorts. So, one should not forget that at the end of the day, a player is a human being too. Sachin was asked if he was fit to open in run-chases and deal with pressure. One could easily analyse that Sachin was only getting out to Brett Lee, and all he needed to do was facea bowling machine, set the speed to 150Km/hr and face that ball swinging in on off stump and bouncing sharply towards him. If he could deal with 10 overs on the trott, there was no one stopping him from gettin a century. And i am pleased that Sachin did that, he was confident after facing the machine before the Sydney Finals and claimed he was raring to go, and BOY DID HE FIRE or what?? He nearly got 2 centuries on the trot. So now we may have another few series where Sachin will shine higher than ever before and he will lead his side to victory as this side is far more capable than the previous teams he has played for which very HEAVILY depended on his scores, this side has match winners at every position! Now, in this bigger picture whether Sanjay's criticism made a contribution i doubt that but yes if criticism is more analytical and thoughtful, its much more constructive otherwise its mostly destructive and us INDIANS have a habit of

Good point, very rational and logical analysis. The way Sachin overcame his failures is truly amazing. According to reports, he was practising very hard, especially outside the off stump and also trying the slice over slips. The way he controlled the innings was outstanding and when Yuvraj was stroking all over, he was just rotating the strike whereas in the opening partnership he was playing attacking strokes all around the wicket. Many people dont appreciate his greatness and passion that enabled him to play consistently for 18 years.

Who are those players?
by bharat on Mar 05, 2008 05:32 PM  | Hide replies

"This young team has done very well but if you look at cricketers who have been around for 7-8 years, they have contributed in a big manner as well,"

Now who are those "7 to 8 years" players that Sachin is talking about? Certainly cannot be Dravid or Ganguly - they have been around for more than 10 years. Is Sachin trying to shield Sehwag? Who else he may be referring to?

What is there to shield. He is giving credit to everyone who contributed. Remember it is not just the contribution in the finals that made India win, it is also in earlier games that helped India reach finals. Also Sehwag's innings in tests helped India psychologically. Bhajji's performance though not great but was critical as he took 2 crucial wickets in 1st final and choked the Aussie run rate in 2nd. Yuvraj's innings of 38 were crucial too. Why see a motive in this?

Yuvi, Bhajji, Sehwag, Pathan, Sreesanth, and more of that period (Zaheer, R.P. Singh, Ashish Nehra, Kaif, Badani, Raina, etc who did not feature in this series but have a contribution nevertheless). And its not about shielding someone, this is where Sachin is great and you guys are an absolute DUNCE. Its about giving credit to everyone's performances when they came if not at the same time. Had Sehwag been a part of the team for these two finals i'm sure he would have had a sizeable contribution too. He did do well in Tests against the same bowling attack, you can't so rudely write him off!
