While we all know that purely in terms of cricketing talents Sachin is a "24 Carat Gold". But call it a monkey on his back or a blot in his illustrious career, the statistics always showed that he performed badly when india chases and refuses to stand and be counted when the team requires him the most in finals (I was also one who believed in that statistics). Now by performing in the finals that too against a foe as intense as australia, where a victory will not only be sweet, but also give a world of confidence to Dhoni and his young charges and open a new chapter in indian cricket history, he stood and how he made himself counted and removed that blemish too for ever. In the process the Little Master gave valuable batting lessons to youngsters like Uttapa, Rohit, Gambhir, Dhoni and that perennial youngster Yuvraj (who refuses to learn his lessons at all even after playing 200 ODIs and throws away his wicket when he has to play according to team requirement and match situations). Indian Board will do well to preserve this Golden Goose until 2011 world cup particularly after Little Master is showing the hunger to stay. The fitting way to send this illustrious Gladiator of indian cricket is as a victorious world champion and a world cup winner. BCCI amidst their money making spree, should persist with these youngsters and make them learn their lessons, becoming a well oiled killer machine in the field with good rest for sachin along the way. Way to go before 2011 worldcup.
what welcome that a cup winning under-19 get? please do not dissappoint them they are the future indian side. They may not have the charisma that the senior indian tem members have - but you have to admit that winning a world cup is a great achievement. So pls do not widen the gap in rewards and recognition BCCI. If you give a great reception and 10 crore to just a tri series win, please do something for those 17 and 18 year olds who brought the world cup.

I agree with you Sakar. This Under 19 guys did a splendid job at Malasiya. Kudos to one and all. India won the Under 19 world cup for the second time. The first time they won in 2000 and Indian team got some good players like Yuvraj and Kaif out of that. This Under 19 Team also have a couple of very good players in Srivastava and Virat and also a couple of very good bowlers. What BCCI should do is go give them an opportunity or two to play in the Indian Senior Team early in their career. Giving a lot of money to them is not a good idea and giving a grand receiption is ok. BCCI can do one good thing: Get all the boys of Under 19 and the senior players together in a single grand receiption. This will boost the morale of the young boys and will charge them to make something much more incredible... I love you and hats off to you - The Under 19 team and the Indian Senior Team. But Sakar, I don't agree with you when you call this tri series as just a tri series. Had it been in India, it would have been a different story. But beating the world champions in their own backyard 2-0 in the CB series Finals(This being their last) is an incredible acheivement by India. I guess, you have to respect that and shouldn't call just a tri series win. Srilanka called this series as a Virtual World Championship before the start of this series and Dhoni rated this series win ahead of India's World 20Twenty win about six months back. Great job done by Dhoni and his team and Virat and his team.
