Sachin retiring?
by Y S on Mar 03, 2008 08:05 PM

Did anyone hear Sachin when he was given man of the match award in the first finals?
For the first time he said that he was just dragging on! It seems that he will be retiring after IPL.
Hope not.

Don't compete with cheats
by Sunil Dharam on Mar 03, 2008 05:09 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI should be brave enough to call the indians back immd. in case the austrlians go back to their old cheating ways in the 2nd final.

Remember you cannot win against a cheat!
you should never compete (in anything) with a cheat!!

No, my dear friend. That's in the world of books!
In real life, we should simply follow the proverb "Int ka jawab patthar se dena chahiye". Tit for Tat.

how many of indians scored how many centuries in australia against australia. he is still good comparing others. dont compare his batting with his own records. do you know that he scored more centuries outside india than any other players. by the way he scored many centuries in australia in test matches. this may be his first century in odi but he has played some good innings too.

Sachin is the best
by anil kumar on Mar 03, 2008 04:14 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin has always been carrying Indian hopes. I remember when sachin used to come to bat whole nation used to pray. And trust me, that was natural. The moment Sachin used to get out, people used to lose hope. He is bigger than player for us. And he has responded quite well to our wishes. In his 19 years of cricketing career, lots of people came and went. Some were " single match sensation "...Some were " single series sensation "....Some stayed coz of more opportunities they got than they deserved...Some staying - courtesy to media attention....Some can play well on sub continent pitches...some can play well on aussie pitches..some can play well on african pitches..some can play well on english pitches.. But only one person who has been quite consistent on all these grounds....Yes non other than Legendary Sachin...When he scores a century, it does bring tears of joy...God bless him... And for people who only talk BIG, BRAG, CRY here....are loosers. They don't have the basic qualification to even comment about Sachin.

Sachin has played this finals winning knock after 8 long years!!!!!!
by S Narain on Mar 03, 2008 03:34 PM  | Hide replies

India has been failing regularly in finals after reaching so many finals since 2000 .
Although great that India won first time in triseries final against Aus after 12 Tri series.
Great that Sachin personal recordis..why after 20 years in Indian ,Sachin has failed to make India win any final except this one ..after very long long time...What is he bragging about??? His personal records are great..Indias record & ranking in world cricket has been poor despite the so called great batsman of the world.

Good question Ashish... Sachin has indeed played so many knocks to have India competing in the finals. He has won matches for India when we had to reach targets well before the stipulated 50 overs for edging a fellow country on the basis of run-rate.... And I have seen him doing that more often than any other player, be it an Indian or a Foreigner...
And none of us can commnent about him. An ocean cannnot be measured by sitting on the shore...

Great...But he has to do this consistently

Yesterday's century was really a great knock.Sachin played an innings that we have been expecting from him over a long-long time.

But I am frustrated by the media hype's and funda's. Come on, he has just won a reasonably tough match and he has to do this consistenly. Not once in every 10 years.

DID U EXPECT SAME FROM YUVI, DHONI AND CO. - why do u say he has to prove himself consistently - isnt cricket a team game - if he has done it today someone else has to do it tmrw. - your SO CALLED MATCHWINNER - YUVI - hasnt even scored 100 runs in total. So dear it takes a lot to be there and perform- dont teach ur father how to play cricket

I am just one of those Indian fans who want to see India winning most (if not all) of the matches and series.

I dont really care and distinguish like who won the match. But I am pretty sure that the reactions to sachin's last 2 innings is going overboard. I will be happy if Sachin can do this consistently because at the end of the day what matters most is that we win the match/series.

Having said that , I repeat the reactions are just too much.Sachin fans might have different views on this.

India won a one day series after 23 years in Australia against Australia and it is more amazing that sachin did the same thing in both the finals back to back. Still if some one thinks that it is hyped that i can just pity on the thinking. Think logically..Beating the world champions in their home in two finals back to back with two knocks of 117* and 91 when the other best performances of the two matches were 82 (aus),63(india) and 63 (aus),38 (india) respectively, how can you say that it is over hyped??? Sachin is a human as others but with Super human efforts and so far more better than others in his era. So think practically before giving your opinion. You think that he should won all the matches for india by his own as all the teams in the world are bunch of stupids.
