Someone from the top or middle order had to stay till the end or say 40th over while chasing a 300plus score. The following are the batting reasons that lost us the match while chasing. 1) I seriously have doubts about Rohit Sharma's patience to build an innings. No doubt about his talent though. Everybody will b quick to remind about that CB series final chase against Aus. Rohit started off with some beautiful Stratight drives and classy shots in the off but he tended to start losing as the innings progressed that day.There were some rash shots and mis-hits then,landing in no man's land. I clearly remember that Sachin when batting with Rohit had to do a lot of talking with him.after that rohith started batting well with sachin picking the gaps for 1s and 2s.He did the job 99% but did not finish it as he lost his wicket due to rush of blood.Sachin and Dhoni then did the formalities. How many 50s does this guy have in ODIs?I guess not many. success in 20-20 is totally different guys as thr is no need to build an inngs. 2) I guess Raina and yousuf pathan are also of the 20-20 moould. They still need the experience of bulding an innings. a quick fire 20 or 30 is good enough for the rest to come and smash the ball in 20-20 but not good enough for ODIs 3)that leaves Gambir,yuvi,viru.1 of these had to Bat long till the 40th over and they didnt. Yuvaraj nowadays doesnt like playing a long innings of even 70-80 leave alone 100. I think we missed a senior player here.

Having said that i dont mean to bring in all the three senior players. Sachin's services could be used partially until we groom some of these youngsters for the one-day. Look at Pakistan's innings. Butt started to flourish only after the arrival of younis Khan. Until then butt was timid and lacked playing any short that measured any confidence. How beautifully younis played his shots without forgetting the importance of picking up singles and twos. Its a classic eg of how a senior player creates a difference during big matches like a final. Now please dont cite-20-20 examples here that we won the final without any seniors. there is a huge difference between sustaining pressure for 100 overs than sustaining it for 40 overs like in a 20-20 game
I am a pakistani,please ignore sameera's msgs. I think India has a very good team combined with an intelligent leader in the form of Dhoni. I am SHOCKED at reading the views of the indian fans criticizing him, in my opinion he is the BEST captain right now. He has the brains.. the motivation and can lead from the front. As for those blaming him for sending Raina up the order,I can tell you its the BOWLERS that got hammered and they were responsible along with some excellent batting from Yk and Butt. Look at what all India has won under Dhoni.. 20 20 world cup against pak, series in pak, series against Aus.. WHAT else do you want!? Seriously such an unforgiving nation doesnt deserve to win. I as a pakistani think dhoni rocks totally. He is so cool and composed,knows exactly what to say when in his interviews and lets face it the best option in indian team at the moment. Pakistan won because pakistan played extremely well. When they have their backs against the wall,they perform well. They needed a jolt and they got it in the previous match. India lost,but atleast they did show up some fight. Chasing 300 is never easy.. so do not blame the batsmen. In short,one loss doesnt make them a zero time. Just wait and watch how dhoni takes this team to new heights,mark me words...ALL though it needs is a PATIENT, forgiving nation that is supportive of the team and its players.

yeah fantastc...dhoni won world cup(but it was kids world cup even worst team pak wasin final,they whould have been champian if that shot was success) tendulker won sharja cup agist unbeatable ausis.he won lott of cups for india.u don't know about tendulker because lack of knowledge about cricket.i have simpathy about you.try to learn waht is criket ,what is the class ,what is palm cuting

Hey have you gone to pakpassion.net, its a site for pakistan cricket fans. what i am trying to say is you check your site and see how fans behave there. india and pakis fans expect a lot form their players. you see the comments paki fans had posted after the humiliating 140run loss. But i must admit that there are a lot of veyr humble pakis too in that forum. So Good and bad fans exist at both places.
Many Indian supporters have bought into this theory of playing quality youngians will bring india victory after victory. If that is the case, india should have won yesterday's finals.
The truth is Pakistan wanted to win a little more badly than india. Indians had the talent to win the finals, not the experience.

kudos to this Indian team. Winning and lossing is part of any game, but what matters is how we win and how we loose. We won with a grand style by defeating Pak with 100 runs margin and lost fighting by just 25 runs margin. I have seen such matches in the past and when the openers and middle order went for such low scores, India lost their mental stability and got all out for 200 and 220 without fighting to get the final score. But yesterday, we were alwaqys in the game and we lost only when Dhoni got out. Even when Dhone and Pathan were playing, we have a chance.
Kudos to the team who have fighted till the team and this team only can go in one direction, that is upwards. With some more sensible fielding effort and sensible batting order changes (Dhone should have come ahead in the batting order and Y.Pathan need to bat at number 3 , yuvi at number 4 and R.Sharma at number 5). Need another younger spinner to take wickets in the middle overs.
