The 3 years between 1996 to 1998 when India played Pakistan in a bilateral series in Toronto saw some of the most exciting India Pakistan matches.......
Pakistan won in 1996 and 1998 and we won in 1997....it was very exciting cricket....
1996 : Pak beat India 3-2 1997 : India beat Pak 4-1 1998 : Pak beat India 4-1
End result : Pak - 8 wins India - 7 wins...a keen rivalry instead of the lop sided contests that we saw in Sharja....

c'mon , it is not namabia or bermuda we are playing. we should learn to respect the opponents to win.

1) Javed inning in Sharjah 1986 2) Salim Malik at Eden Gardnes...65 runs in 6 overs required and Salim won it with one over to spare...Kapil was flogged like a dog...
3) 1987 Sharjah...manzoor Elahi played a blinder...chasing 142 to win, Pak were 65 for 6...and they still won by 3 wickets..
4) 1999 tri-series in Australia...Pak chased down 200 odd inspite of being 71 for 6 at one stage....

1.innings by miandad- sharjah 2. innings by mansur ilahi-sharjah 3. inings by saleem mailk-kolkatta these are distincly remembered for batsmen's single handedly won game. there may others won by imran, saqlain, akram and aquib etc also.
dhonis is upset that yuvi is planning to leave saturday night itself to attend euro 2008 match with portugal. obviusly he did not inform team mangement. if sat's play is washed out then it is going to be played on sunday. i think dhoni is right. national team comes first.

Dhoni was more upset with the fact that Yuvi did not show the courtesy of informing him....he should atleast inform the captain prior to taking any big decision!!

hmm. u r rt friendship is also turning sour. yuvi also has captainship ambitions. he has openly said this in media.
There was a time when India Pakistan match would bring goosepimples...the days when Pak had the great Aamir Sohail, Saeed Anwar, Ijaz Ahmed....that rivalry was something to cherish..
But this rivalry has become a bit of a mismatch with India firm favourites all the time....there is no excitement any more...We all want India to win over Pak but not by 140 runs...such matches become boringly one sided and the charm is lost...what do you think friends?? Am i saying nething wrong??
RE:India Pakistan rivalry has lost its gloss!!

even earleir there was mismatch. earlier pak used to beat india by 140 runs. now times have changed. but stil pakistan is unreliable but mercurial team. sunday's contest shall prove that.
