You have not given the answer. do you have any answer for that?????
& one more thing I don't beleive in regional clashes. I am not marathi, but I am leaving in Mumbai since my childhood & having very good marathi freinds.
If colonol is partial about marathi players then why don't he chose a single marathi player in Current squad??????????
Have you heard any cry from Marathi people for non-inclusion of a single player like WB??????

He was the most slefish cricketer of his times. He was always put his interest above teams. The worst captain India ever produced is also vengsarkar. He was more interested in completing his 100 and 50 more than helping his team out.

He was the only Indian batsman who knew how to play with the tailenders by farming the strike. He has done this on countless occasions. It is very easy to sit in the comfort of your chair and type anything you want without any basis. How do you know he only played for his 50 or 100?
Why Vengasarkar again???? because currently no politics in IPL and he can bring in some politics. Ruin the careers of many creicketers. There are plenty of ex cricketers who lend their life to cricket, common please allow and give chance to others. Pleeeaaase

Idiots like you won't understand the contribution of Dilip Vengsarkar to Indian cricket!! It is better that you name the cricketers who you think deserve to get ahead of Dilip or, just shut your mouth!!

abhey tuh kabhi cricket bat pakda kya that you are comparing Sreekanth with Vengsarkar. Sreekanth used to dance against moving ball and even in ODIs he scored once in 20 innings. Anyone with even basic cricketing knowledge would not compare Colonel with Sreekanth. There was no better on-driver of the cricket ball than Vengsarkar (ask any cricketer what is the most difficult shot in cricket).Scoring 3 centuries at Lords is no mean achievement and he was ranked as the top Wisden cricketer for 3 years running. Many times he was overshadowed by Gavaskar but even during Gavaskar's 29th century at Delhi, Vengsarkar scored a brilliant 159 against Marshall & Co (Sreekanth could not survive even a single over). If that was not enough, his 100 at Mumbai was even better where he played some brilliant cover drives and square cuts on bowler friendly wicket. Until recently he was the 2nd highest Indian run getter (after Gavaskar). Do you know why he was nicknamed Colonel?

I think because in a Irani Cup match he scored 110 by hitting sixers against the famous Indian spinners. His hitting reminded people of Col CK Nayadu. Am I right?
Very nicely you have summed up his career, indeed one tends to forget good players of the past. I had certainly done so.

Why should he? He is a national selector, not a mumbaian selector. Think twice before posting such messages.

Ganguly and Dravid's ODI career = ALMOST OVER. As far as Tendulkar goes, he will play till he wants to, just like he have done so in the future. Nor Dhoni nor anyone else can dare to remove him. Moreover, his performance in ODI's is sufficient to grant him his place. He is currently at #2 in ICC ODI ratings.
