They are at it again, will never learn to respect new order
by Orient Mystique on Jun 10, 2008 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

They are all at it again - newspaper scribes, current Team India coach, bloggers, contributors of articles to websites.

Repeating, sentiments that carry no conviction.

Reciting, cliches that have outlived their utility and buried long back.

Trying to provoke fear amongst cubs.

Forgetting that young ones know no fear.

When the match is over by the evening, many would feel uneasy in their stomachs. For having failed to grasp things, for emulating ostriches.

I have no thought that Team India under MSD will lose today's match against Pakistan. I believe that Team India will register a resounding win, from which Pak will find it impossible to recover. Especially since the tournament is very short.

Sehwag's absence wouldn't really matter. The absence of the socalled seniors will be the real advantage and strength of Team India.

The dominant differences (due to absence of seniors in the team) anyone can discern by watching the play today will be the happy gelling of the team, improved fielding and above all, the will, flair and desire to win.

If, because of quixotic turn of fate, the team doesn't do well, I will shed no tears, raise no cries. After all, the experience would stand the young brigade in much better stead in the coming days.

I pray hard that oldies will never return to the ODI and T20 side.

You are well aware that doubts get clarified, questions get questioned.

Well, since you persist, let me give my definition of oldie.

An "oldie" is one, who keeps counting things, rather than think about being counted in the scheme of things.

Thanks, Ravichandran.

To follow the crowd or to make one's own path is one'c conscious choice.
