CRICKET FUTURE TENSE
by damodaran mohan on Jun 02, 2008 02:30 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, sachin is right, IPL is good for cricket, especially for domestic cricket.Eventually One Day cricket may go and inter country tours may contain only TEST and T20 itineries. It is time for TEST cricket duration to be reduced to 4 days. This way the duration of tour will be reduced, cricketers will get more rest and better money due to better participation of crowd.

Cricketers are already very rich. So please remove the word "money" every time you talk about cricketers. They are not begging in the streets. Pride and passion is more important for a good contest. Not Money. It is not easy for cricketers.

by AMIT on Jun 02, 2008 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

HE is trying to impress his employers for extending the career.
He should retire gracefully.Except few counted finals he has failed to win singlehandedly.Defending is not done in second innings of any test in entire career.Even Parthiv patel once saved by defending in second innings(test match).Wants tax concessions, etc.
See shaun marsh, pollock, even dravid, ganguly and sehwag have won single handedly.

by Jairam Amrith on Jun 02, 2008 01:32 PM  | Hide replies

Of-course Tendulkar will support t20 even though he is hopeless at it. A million-plus dollar pay-cheque a year for him for being a so-called icon. What a trashy tournament it turned out to be making the super-rich richer and setting Indian cricket's fortunes on a slippery slope downwards ( watch what happens in the ODIs in June in Bangladesh and Pakistan)

Sachin plays for money. He should be arrested for that crime. But Jairam Amrith works for the betterment of the society and he doesnt take a single buck in return for his services. He is a great soul and he hates money. Sachin should follow his example and stop receiving payment for playing cricket.

Sivakumar Ananthasubramanian, spare me your bogus your sarcasm.Only saintly-named souls like you hate money but you have to draw the lien somewhere. Sachin has quite justifiably earned a lot of money as India's best player of the last 2 decades but it is time to retire gracefully and serve the game in other ways.

since jairam amrith has worked hard for long and already made enough money in his profession he is going to quit his job gracefully and teach mathematics to poor kids living in slums. Sachin should follow his example, stop playing cricket and serve the game.

Trying to spit on the sun? dirty face is what you will get..no wonder your name is babban.
Without his 16K runs defeats would have been more humiliating while playing with 7 Match fixers in the team. Get a job Babban.. you are a worm. no one cares what you blabber here with your face hiding in the crowd.

Well deserved send offs
by ramesh t on Jun 02, 2008 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

I am not sure when and how will all the greats decide to call it a day but i feel all : sachin, dravid, ganguly, kumble, vvs deserve to have a great send off match/matches allowed when they will have standing ovations ceremony (like those in australia). They have really entertained indian fans and no one should forget their contributions. fans would have many personal memories to how sachin etc had entertainment, pure joy of watching hims drive etc, fantastic early mornings, late evenings they have served us when we were sitting with friends/families in our drawing rooms....

IPL Contribution
by rakesh on Jun 02, 2008 01:13 PM

The greatest contribution for Indian Cricket came from IPL in the form of slapping of Shrisanth by Harbhajan. Both of them needed this kind of episode to keep their feet firmly on the ground.

He is just trying to impress Sharad Pawar and other politicians by giving sound bytes.

Ponting is a far greater batsman than Sachin.

Sachin shame on u... no match u won one-handedly for country.
u should really be kicked out of India team, if not announce retirement.
why don't u retire gracefully and maintain some fractions of dignity remaining in Indian minds for u ??

I really dont know how to react to your statement. Any how.... i think it shame on you.

i wont give justification on what I am writing , or proof against what you wrote, I think a small and recent example will nullify your statement. If you really fan of cricket, here are two puzzles for you:
1) Which was that match, in which India won because of Sachin. I think it was one of the recent tours.
2) This is the most prestegeous tournament in the world of cricket. Where every batsman failed, and sachin single handedly took india to finals, and india lost to Australia. I repeat, its most prestigious tournament for cricket world.

Honestly, if Sachin & other wants to stay in One piece, for there child & grand children, they should retire, other wise they risk serious injury.
Records are made to be broken, so do not worry about your records, they are milestones for you & stepping stones for other.

Enjoy cricket game.
