ya...agree mendis is sesation now in cricket world... but if he can continue his performance for 3-4 yrs in same fashion .....defnitely we can rank him the best bowler....
see kumble when came into internation cricket .... he too created same type of sensation.... there is a point of time when sahne warne want to see kumble by hearing his sensational bowling....both warne and kumble have cm into international arena at same time...
mendis is mystery bowler now.... but as time goes on... batsamn will watch video recordings and understand his deliveries... that is time when mendisa will face test in his bowling..... if he succeeds even then... then no doubt he will remain one of greats in cricket arena
I think mendis is overhyped after his performance in only one series, that also ODI.He is a bowler of the type of Anil Kumble. he does not spin the ball much. The variation in pace and bounce in helpful tracks assist him. that's all. He may be good in ODIs. We will see in the forthcoming test series and decide whether he is a mystery man or an ordinary bowler. But watch Murli.He may be a match winner in local conditions.

one thing is there why sachine is great..? because he played very well to waqar, akram, walse, ambross, donald, de villiars, warn, murli, mustaq, and many more..
wehn warn , mcgra, brett lee, akram takes his wicket they become great.. today mendis done good bowling no doubt.. but he made out young generation who are not clear in their basics..
when he will play agianst dravid, laxman, sachine and gangully it will tell who is best.. because when u are doing good in absense of greate players u may feel u are not recognised much in yr self..
so wiat and watch test is diffrent from 20-20 ot one day match.. here u need to spel around 30 overs many times.. and bats man are playing with relaxation.. no hurry can pass 5 maiden over.. then yr passions will test u. let mendis wear this shoes then will come to know

I am not telling that mendis will destroy the indian batting line up. It only shows the weak bowling performance of India in Srilanka. I show you Srilankan key batsmans record against India in Srilanka :

this is the fact. Right now Aussies don't have any spinner in their ranks. so they are jealous. Mendis the mystery may be solved in the test series but the fact remains, he is a unique and talented bowler. whether he adds further ammunition to his armour remains to be seen.

If its abt his style of bowling then i guess he is not as complicated as South African Paul Adams who also was unique but not successful. I guess people are giving too much attention rite now to Mendis just based on one performance.He cannot be as successful as 3 greats Kumnble,Warne and Murali,just bcos he does'nt have that surprise ball with him once opposition lines him up he can be very much predictable.Lets see how it goes for him in the upcoming tour.
